For 88 years, children from under-resourced communities in New England have come to our 330-acre lakefront overnight camp in Poland, Maine to experience unique learning opportunities, be challenged to discover interests, uncover new skills, make lifetime friendships, and connect with inspiring mentors. Every Kid Sports, a national non-profit, provides youth sports grants so more kids can experience the joy and positive benefits of playing. The Every Kid Sports Pass helps families, on Medicaid, SNAP, or WIC, pay sports registration fees. A parent or guardian can apply for the Pass for every kid, age 4 – 18 years old, in their family. The Pass is available three times a year, Fall, Winter, and Spring. Each application, up to $150, is for participation in the sport of their child’s choice.
The council delivers the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls across Washington, D.C., and nearby Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia counties—running troop programs, camps, community-service and outdoor education to develop leadership, confidence, and practical skills.
