More money delivered. Less work getting it there

Every part of disbursement is built around one question: did the funds reach an eligible nonprofit without your team touching it?

Reach any eligible 501(c)(3)

Every US 501(c)(3) in good standing is already in our database — not just the ones who have signed up with us. You aren’t limited to an enrolled subset, and no organization has to do anything before it can receive your funds.

Eligibility checked every day

We check the IRS Business Master File and Automatic Revocation list daily. If an organization loses its status prior to disbursement, it stops being payable before funds move — and you don’t have to monitor it, flag it or act on it.

We own the exceptions

Returns, notifications of change, address failures, stale-dated checks and reissues are handled by our operations team and corrected at source, so the same failure doesn’t recur next cycle. Your team doesn’t manage a remediation queue.

No signup. No portal. Just paid.

Most platforms require a nonprofit to register and submit banking details before it can receive anything. Organizations that never get round to it simply don’t get their money, and the funds sit unclaimed.

Pledge works the other way. Every eligible organization is paid from the first cycle — by check where we don’t hold banking details, by ACH where we do. We mail thousands of checks every month, and that’s deliberate. Electronic payment is where most organizations end up, not a condition of being paid.

Nobody misses a payment while you switch

There’s no switchover date and no gap. Every organization keeps getting paid from the first cycle, whatever method they’re on.

  1. Send us your list

We match your organizations against our database and tell you how many we can already pay electronically.

  2. Everyone gets paid

From the first cycle, every eligible organization receives funds — by ACH where we hold details, by check where we don’t.

  3. ACH grows on its own

Each check carries a prompt to add banking details, so the electronic share rises cycle after cycle without you chasing it.

  4. Nothing lands on you

Returns, address changes, reissues and organization questions are handled by our team, not yours.

Ineligible organizations stop being paid

You don’t monitor IRS status, and you don’t have to act on it. It happens underneath the program.

Across a population of tens of thousands, revocations, mergers and status changes happen constantly. We check the IRS files daily, and an organization that loses its status comes off the payable list before the next disbursement. If its status is restored, payments resume. Nothing reaches your desk either way.

What enterprise disbursement actually requires

The parts that decide whether a program runs itself or quietly consumes a team.

Any eligible 501(c)(3)

Reach every qualifying organization, not only the subset that has signed up with a platform.

Check and ACH, both first-class

No enrollment requirement. Organizations are paid by whichever method works, and move to ACH over time.

Daily IRS monitoring

Business Master File and Auto-Revocation checks every day, so ineligible organizations stop being payable.

Exception handling absorbed

Returns, address failures, stale-dated items and reissues are worked by our team, not yours.

Reconciliation end to end

Every dollar traceable from funding through to settlement, per organization, per cycle.

Reporting and attribution

Region, brand, program or any attribute you send, carried on every transaction and available to roll up.

The structure behind the payment

Funds are granted by Pledgeling Foundation, our affiliated 501(c)(3) public charity. For companies running customer-facing giving programs, that removes work and risk that would otherwise sit with you.

Registrations sit with us

The foundation carries the charitable solicitation and commercial fundraiser registrations, along with renewals and reporting.

Funded in aggregate

Contributions are funded to the foundation in batch rather than tying each customer transaction to an individual charitable gift — a materially simpler position under state commercial co-venture rules.

Independently audited

Audited each year, with a public Form 990 available to your finance and compliance teams.

Undelivered funds stay charitable

Amounts that can’t reach an organization remain charitable assets and are reported back each cycle rather than sitting in commercial limbo.

FAQs

How long does it take to move a check program onto ACH?
The first cycle can run within weeks of kickoff, because verification and payment capability are already live and need no engineering from you. What varies is how quickly the remaining organizations enroll — we match your list first, so that number is measured rather than guessed.
They keep receiving checks, for as long as they need to. We don’t require ACH enrollment, and we don’t hold funds back from organizations that haven’t registered — that would strand the smallest ones, which are often the least resourced.
We do. Returns, address failures, banking updates and payment questions come to our support team rather than yours, and corrections are applied at the record level so the same failure doesn’t repeat.
It comes off the payable list before the next disbursement, so funds don’t move. Our team follows up with the organization, and if its status is restored payments resume automatically. It appears in your reporting, but it doesn’t require anything from you.
Yes. Region, brand, program and any other attribute you send is carried on every transaction, so the nonprofit receives one payment while you keep the full contribution breakdown behind it.
Free the Fee covers card processing costs on incoming donations so nonprofits receive the full gift. Enterprise disbursement is a separate service — validation, payment execution and exception handling — and is quoted separately.
