Midtown Educational Foundation, through its Midtown Center for boys and Metro Achievement Center for girls, helps close the achievement gap for Chicago’s under-served urban youth ages eight through eighteen. How do we accomplish this? MEF integrates academics, virtues,and exposure to the world of opportunity beyond the classroom for each child it serves. Programs engage parents and adult mentors in developing students of strong character with a desire for academic excellence, a college education, and service to others.

The Partnership for After School Education (PASE) is a child-focused organization that promotes and supports quality afterschool programs, particularly those serving young people from underserved communities.
New Door Ventures helps at-risk youth get ready for work and life through jobs, skill-building and supportive community. We serve youth, ages 16-21, overcoming histories of incarceration, homelessness, substance abuse, and poverty. We provide the real jobs and deep support that enable youth to identify goals, learn healthy behaviors, and become contributing members of society. New Door invests with the goal that 80%+ of its graduates will go on to further education and/or mainstream jobs.
Technology Access Foundation started in 1996 to prepare underserved youth of color for higher education and professional success by providing a rigorous and relevant K-12 curriculum. TAF enhances their educational and professional prospects through the delivery of tools for learning in the 21st century. We will use our demonstrable success to establish our leadership in educational reform and expand the reach of our model.
Take Stock in Children breaks the cycle of poverty for at-risk, high-potential students by providing each with a volunteer adult mentor and a providing a tuition scholarship for post-secondary education. Our success is measured by those students who successfully graduate, achieve their college degree and contribute to the economic viability of their communities.
The TEAK Fellowship helps talented New York City students from low-income families gain admission to and succeed at top high schools and colleges. Along with academic support, TEAK provides leadership training, exposure to the arts and outdoors, mentoring, career experience, and assistance with the high school and college application processes.
