America SCORES Bay Area (SCORES) is the local affiliate of the national organization, America SCORES, that strengthens communities and empowers youth through soccer, voice, and service. SCORES addresses health and educational disparities in underserved public school communities in San Francisco, Hayward, San Rafael, and Oakland by providing 1,600 students with access to programs that help students to establish a lifelong enthusiasm for learning through team-based soccer, literary arts, and civic engagement activities. Now in its 19th year of service in the Bay Area, SCORES offers programs at 72 under-served public elementary and middle school communities and through deep partnerships with area School Districts, Recreation and Parks Departments, and community-based organizations.

Musa (moo-sah: Swahili and Muslim name for boys. It means “saved from the waters”) Mission: the purpose of Musa is to improve life outcomes for youth living in under resourced areas. Programs and services will foster the development of strong character, positive self-esteem, leadership and skills that lead to academic success. Musa shall also establish and create opportunities for youth to pursue training, education and employment designed to place them on the path to economic self-sufficiency. Vision: the Musa program will target black and latino males and teach participants to swim, provide an opportunity to acquire lifeguard certification and place them in high paying aquatics positions throughout NYC. Musa boys will learn to save the lives of others and in the process save their own.
Play it Forward is a student led organization that engages students in athletics by providing sporting equipment to deserving youth.
Provide a fun, safe and physically challenging camp experience for children with T1D. Give campers and their families the opportunity to meet and develop friendships with others affected by and living with diabetes. Educate campers to better understand and control their diabetes. Promote awareness of nutrition and exercise as an essential component of diabetes management. Promote independence and self-discipline in the child’s approach to life with diabetes. Educate health professionals, students and staff about children with a chronic condition and about Type 1 diabetes and its management. Provide opportunities for families to come together to improve their knowledge, understanding and diabetes-related skills within a community of health-care providers. Provide a wide-range of programs throughout Florida to help children and families regardless of their ability to pay.
WMLCC encourages physical activity through dance and other forms of exercise and encourage overall healthy living through community education, programs and activities. A “back to the basics” approach to health starts in our local community.
To provide a place in perpetuity where people with disabilities can be equal, capable and successful, growing to their maximum potential through interaction with horses in a positive environment.
Leveling the Playing Field gives kids from under-resourced communities the opportunity to enjoy the mental and physical benefits of youth sports participation. We do this through the donation of used and excess sporting equipment to programs and schools serving low-income communities. Our donations allow programs to allocate funds saved by lowering registration fees, expanding their scholarship programs, enhancing their existing athletic program and/or developing new ones.
Our mission is to provide horseback riding, training, and competitive sports opportunities to individuals with special needs in a safe learning environment through the adaptive equine experience.
