West oaks little league was started in 1979 and has served the Houston, TX alief and fort bend communities as a place to play a favorite past time of America, baseball; for many years. As of april 15, 2016, west oaks little league’s fields were affected by the storms that hit the Houston area. Our fields are a part of harris county’s flood plain and harbor the water from addicks reservoir and dam; this is to keep the surrounding neighborhoods/areas from flooding. Our fields, concession stand and equipment shed will be under water for about two months. We need help to replace mostly everything due to rust, structural and mold concerns. The DC Furies Women’s Rugby Team was founded in 1978 and play at the most competitive level of Women’s Club Rugby and participates in the Women’s Premiere League (WPL). The Furies play in local, national and international matches and host the annual Ruggerfest each Spring, one of the most popular tournaments in women’s club rugby. The Furies promote the empowering nature of team sport by teaching young women rugby.
