OutServe-SLDN

SLDN is a non-partisan,non-profit, legal services, watchdog and policy organization dedicated to bringing about full LGBT equality to America's military and ending all forms of discrimination and harassment of military personnel on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity. SLDN provides free and direct legal assistance to servicemembers and veterans affected by the repealed "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" law and the prior regulatory ban on open service, as well as those currently serving who may experience harassment or discrimination. Since 1993, SLDN in-house legal team has responded to more than 11,500 requests for assistance.

United Through Reading

Together, we unite military families facing physical separation by facilitating the bonding experience of reading aloud. United Through Reading provides new, high-quality children's books to military households & offers service members the opportunity to be video-recorded reading books to their children for use when the service member is deployed or can't be physically present for storytime - all of the tools needed for a storytime routine. Program participation supports military family resiliency by boosting family morale, reducing stress, and bolstering the literacy development of military children, who are considered an at-risk population due to the unique demands of military life, including frequent family separations, academic disruptions, & interrupted family routines.

General Needs Ltd

To provide essentials, including underwear, toiletries, boots, socks, sneakers, coats, and bedding to homeless veterans of the US armed forces. We only provide new packaged items. Our organization is all volunteer, resulting in approximately 95% of all donations going directly to the vets. We also strive to bring attention to the fact that there are far more homeless veterans than the federal, state and local governments around the country acknowledge, due to a very narrow definition of "homeless" applied by various governmental agencies.

Honor Flight DFW is dedicated to honoring our veterans for the sacrifices they have made to keep our nation safe by providing them with an all expense paid trip to visit the memorials in Washington D. U.S.VETS is the nation’s largest nonprofit provider of comprehensive services to homeless and at-risk veterans. After 32 years of operation, U.S.VETS has grown from a single facility to 40 residential and service centers in 18 locations across 7 states – Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Texas, Virginia, and Maryland – as well as Washington D.C and the U.S. Territory of Guam. We provide wraparound and preventive services that create pathways out of homelessness for veterans and their families. Our services include housing, case management, mental health support, workforce development, and more.

ORVA will provide supportive services through housing to include all individuals titled 'Veteran’, regardless of gender or special needs. We are a regional program for all of the Delta. Serving Louisiana Parishes, central Mississippi and southern Arkansas Counties creating supportive housing for Veterans.

Our mission is to advance individual wellbeing for Veterans and their families through evidence-based complementary care services and education. Healing Warriors Program provides Acupuncture, CranioSacral therapy and Healing Touch to our Active Duty and Veteran service member community, for assistance with pain management and PTSD symptoms.
