Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) is a publicly funded 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that builds and donates specially adapted, custom homes nationwide for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans to enable them to rebuild their lives. Most of these Veterans have sustained life-altering injuries including multiple amputations, partial or full paralysis, blindness, or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). These homes are no cost to our Veterans and allows them to start restoring some of the freedom and independence that they sacrificed defending ours, all while enabling them to focus on their family, recovery, and moving forward. Our HFOT family continues its relationship with our Veterans even after the home is completed and donated to them. We assist our Heroes with rebuilding their lives after the keys are handed over.

Mighty Hero Homes exist to eradicate veteran homelessness by providing affordable, permanent homes to all homeless veterans in safe environments with a full array of on-Base amenities and wraparound services. Homeless to Home Ownership is the objective for each Base resident. Because They Deserve Better! It is time to end the institution of veteran homelessness. Measurable generational change will occur in hundreds of American cities because of the infusion of healthy, hopeful, and productive American heroes in the communities where Mighty Hero Home Bases are installed. Veterans will become vital contributors in the societies that welcome, support, and embrace their residency. Mighty Hero Home Bases will provide Base residents with employment opportunities, health care and wellness services, and other amenities such as a commissary, gardens, green space, indoor and outdoor congregation areas, etc. Support from the communities where the Bases are built is mission critical. As such, Mighty Hero Homes will recruit and empower local businesses, churches, and other civic organizations to sponsor each Base resident.

Rosie’s Place was founded in 1974 as the first women’s shelter in the United States. Our mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment to help poor and homeless women maintain their dignity, seek opportunity and find security in their lives. Today, Rosie’s Place not only provides meals and shelter but also creates answers for 13,000 women a year through wide-ranging support, housing and education services. Rosie’s Place relies solely on the generous support of individuals, foundations and corporations and does not accept any city, state or federal funding.

The mission of Birthday Wishes is to improve and empower the lives of homeless children and their families by providing joy, play and hope through the magic of a birthday party. Our goal is to ensure that children experiencing the trauma of homelessness have the opportunity to celebrate their birthday joyfully, surrounded by family, friends and others who care.

Ronald McDonald House Alabama provides comfort, care, and community for families with sick or injured children receiving medical treatment in Birmingham, Alabama. Located just one block from Children’s of Alabama and UAB Hospital, the House offers temporary housing and essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare.

The Midnight Mission offers a path to self-sufficiency to men, women and children who have lost everything. Our emergency services, 12-step recovery programs, job training, education and work programs offer a compassionate bridge to productive lives. We remove obstacles, and provide the accountability and structure that the people who are experiencing homelessness need to rejoin their communities. Family Promise is a national nonprofit organization that helps families facing homelessness find stable housing and achieve lasting independence through a community-based response that addresses all the issues that can lead to the loss of a home.
