Urban Justice Center advocates for and empowers NYC's most vulnerable residents through a combination of direct legal service, systemic advocacy, community education and political organizing. We assist our clients on numerous levels, from one-on-one legal advice, to helping individuals access housing, to filing class action lawsuits to effect systemic change.

Having begun in 1954, Hope Ministries provides shelter for men, women and children through our Men's Center and Family Life Center. While living at Hope Ministries, residents have opportunities to grow in their stability, recovery and faith. Three free meals are also offered every day to anyone in our community, resulting in nearly 8,000 meals each month.

In addition to building beautifully-designed green, affordable homes that serve as a foundation for family stability, WHEDco creates life-changing opportunities for local residents of every age through our research-driven Early Childhood and Youth Education initiatives, which set kids on a path to college; Small Business Development programs, which nurture entrepreneurship and address community needs; Family Support and Counseling services, which connect families to the critical resources they need to succeed; and Arts and Culture programming, which showcases the borough's musical legacy and supports a new generation of artists. SAMMinistries is an interfaith ministry whose mission is to help the homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless attain self-sufficiency by offering, with dignity and compassion, shelter, housing and services. SAMMinistries also provides volunteers opportunities to be renewed and fulfilled as they serve.
