The Mission of Nicholas House, Inc. is to assist families in making the transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency. Nicholas House understands that providing basic subsistence - food and shelter, is necessary but not sufficient to prevent most homeless persons from becoming homeless again. Nicholas House helps families address the root causes of their homelessness by offering counseling, case management, assistance with life skills and parenting, and other supportive services.

We see a ministry where the lives of the homeless and those in need are constantly being transformed by the truth of the Gospel with the collaboration of our community.

Detroiters have all the talent they need, but many don’t have access to all the opportunities they deserve. Therefore, we repurpose properties into one stop hubs of opportunity for entire families to thrive. We fill these iconic buildings with the best and brightest nonprofit organizations providing youth programs, workforce development and human services to tens of thousands of students and community members each year. We help our nonprofit tenant partners collaborate and create far greater life transformation together than was previously possible alone.Together we ensure more:- Detroit students perform at/above grade level in math & reading- Families have access to essential health & wellness services- Community members obtain higher-paying jobs & achieve economic self-sufficiency

Inspire exists to break the cycle of abuse and poverty through stable housing, education, training and mentorship of foster and homeless youth. We believe education is a key to breaking the cycle of abuse and poverty. We combine formal education, personal mentoring and life skills classes to give a well rounded education.

The Oakland Community Land Trust's (OakCLT) mission is to expand and preserve housing and economic development opportunities for Black, Latinx, Asian, other communities of color, and low-income residents of Oakland. In practice, we acquire housing, land, and other critical community-serving real estate and steward them in trust to ensure that they remain affordable forever. We create innovative shared-equity ownership structures that balance the needs of individuals and families to build wealth with the long-term goal of permanently preserving affordability. We foster leadership and build community power through an engaged board of OakCLT residents and community members to enact a vision of resident-powered development on community-owned land.
