The mission of Women Employed is to improve the economic status of women and remove barriers to economic equity. Women Employed has one passion: to make life better for working women. We believe that all women deserve full and fair economic opportunities. That means better career options and higher pay, more opportunities for training and education, and strict enforcement of fair employment laws. Women Employed is a leading national advocate for women's economic advancement. We analyze workplace issues, educate policy makers, and build support to improve opportunities and incomes. Since 1973, Women Employed has fought to outlaw pay discrimination, pregnancy discrimination and sexual harassment and to strengthen federal equal opportunity policies and work/family benefits.

OPERATION RED WINGS FOUNDATIONS MISSION IS TO PROVIDE VETERANS & THEIR FAMILIES WITH A PATH TO HEALING FROM THEIR INVISIBLE WOUNDS

The Possible Project utilizes entrepreneurship to inspire young people who have untapped potential, empowering them with the skills required to achieve enduring personal and professional success. We guide our students through a novel dynamic curriculum, hands-on work experience, and assistance with entrepreneurial endeavors and career goals. We strive to have all our students use their skills to move through a high-level career path and improve their communities while remaining committed to the principle that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!

The mission of Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow is to help disadvantaged youth and adults recognize their own self-worth, and advance towards self-sufficiency and financial security through job training, academic reinforcement, improved life skills, job placement, and support services. OBT approaches all of its programmatic endeavors with the three principles in mind: 1) Confidence: OBT’s programs seek to instill confidence in participants so that they can increase their self-esteem and improve their chances to succeed. 2) Discipline: OBT’s training model stresses personal discipline. OBT’s high standards and expectations hold participants accountable for their own success, making no excuses if they fail. 3) Professionalism: All of OBT’s programs are modeled after a “simulated” corporate work environment. Participants are required to dress and groom professionally, be on time each day, handle work assignments with deadlines, and act as they would be expected to behave at work.

The Adventure Project is a nonprofit “adding venture” capital to create jobs to solve social problems in developing countries. Handouts help today— but a good job will change your life. Jobs transform everything. It’s what people want most. Jobs multiply opportunity, hope, education, peace, and prosperity for everyone. When people have good jobs, they invest in their future Empower one hero and you transform an entire community. Every $1,200 raised provides job training to hire one person. That job ends up serving approximately 500 neighbors with essential services. From farmers growing food to feed families or well caretakers keeping clean water flowing, these jobs aren’t just great – they are essential  

LAANE is a leading advocacy organization dedicated to building a new economy grounded in good jobs and a healthy environment. Combining research, innovative public policy and organizing of broad alliances, LAANE engages in projects that will result in good jobs, thriving communities, racial equity, and a healthy environment. We strive for a society where people have power over their own lives and a voice in civic life, living wages, healthcare, and dignity on the job, where they live in environmentally healthy communities with safe and decent housing, good schools, clean air and clean water, and other basic necessities, and where corporations are held accountable for providing benefits to the community.    

The mission of The WOW Center (WOW) is to improve the lives of individuals with developmental disABILITIES by providing specialized training, activities, and experiences that empower them. WOW is focused on helping individuals become independent, active, employed, and socially responsible members of the community. WOW provides life and work skills training, art program, fitness classes, daily field trips out into the community, and a music therapy program, and much more. All activities are designed to reinforce pre-selected goals chosen by the individuals and increase their independence and understanding of their role within the community.

Jewish Family & Career Services of Atlanta (JF&CS) offers programs and resources to transform lives. Since 1891, we've helped individuals and families of all faiths live to their full potential. Guided by Jewish values, we are a welcoming community, and our experienced professionals bring integrity and compassion to their work in the fields of aging and older adults, career counseling, dentistry, mental health, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and need-based support services. We serve ALL individuals regardless of age, race, religion, gender identity, national origin, sexual orientation or ability to pay. JF&CS is a proud partner of the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta and United Way of Greater Atlanta. Accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.

A Catalyst for the Disability Employment Movement, the National Organization on Disability (NOD) is a private, non-profit organization that promotes the full participation of America’s 56 million people with disabilities in all aspects of life. Today, NOD focuses on increasing employment opportunities for the 79 percent of working-age Americans with disabilities who are not employed. With programs on the ground, NOD is demonstrating new employment practices and models of service delivery, evaluating results, and sharing successful approaches for widespread replication. We are conducting research on disability employment issues, including the field’s most widely used polls on employment trends and the quality of life for people with disabilities. And our subject matter experts in disability and employment provide consulting services to public agencies and employers seeking to harness the unique talents that people with disabilities can bring to the workforce. To achieve our goals, we work in partnership with employers, schools, the military, service providers, researchers, and disability advocates. Our current employment programs are benefiting high school students with disabilities transitioning into the workforce, seriously injured service members, employers seeking to become more disability friendly, and state governments engaged in policy reform.

The Partnership for Public Service works to revitalize our federal government by inspiring a new generation to serve and by transforming the way government works. Building, energizing and maintaining a high-quality workforce is the key to success for any organization—and the federal government is no exception. Our strategy for revitalizing public service is pursued through five strategic goals: Inspire and hire mission-critical talent, develop strong leaders, engage employees, modernize management systems and build networks of support.

Jewish Family Service helps those in need restore emotional health and self-sufficiency. Lives are changed through our professional, sliding scale (starting at $0 fee) services which include counseling, job assistance, family violence intervention, gerontology and emergency assistance/food pantry.
