At Alzheimer's Family Services Center (AFSC), we believe that all memory-impaired seniors, irrespective of ethnic background and socioeconomic status, deserve the right to superior personalized care that will enable them to age with dignity at home. Across the last three decades, this belief has guided our mission to improve quality of life for families challenged by Alzheimer's disease or another dementia through services tailored to meet individual needs. We play a key role in our community's continuum of long-term care services by offering affordable access to dementia-specific adult day health care programs, a variety of support services to help caregivers manage the day-to-day challenges of care, and community dementia education and outreach.

Every cure has a starting point. Like Dr. Jonas Salk when he conquered polio, Salk scientists are dedicated to innovative biological research. Exploring the molecular basis of diseases makes curing them more likely. In an outstanding and unique environment we gather the foremost scientific minds in the world and give them the freedom to work collaboratively and think creatively. For over 50 years this wide-ranging scientific inquiry has yielded life-changing discoveries impacting human health. We are home to Nobel Laureates and members of the National Academy of Sciences who train and mentor the next generation of international scientists. We lead biological research. We prize discovery. Salk is where cures begin.

Helen Keller Services for the Blind enables individuals who are blind, visually-impaired, deaf-blind and/or have combined hearing-vision loss to live, work and thrive in their community of choice.

The Lupus Research Alliance is the largest nongovernmental, nonprofit funder of lupus research worldwide. The organization aims to transform treatment while advancing toward a cure by funding the most innovative lupus research; fostering diverse scientific talent; stimulating collaborations; and driving discovery toward better diagnostics, improved treatments and, ultimately, a cure for lupus. Because the Lupus Research Alliance’s Board of Directors funds all administrative and fundraising costs, 100% of all donations goes to support lupus research programs. The mission of the Retina Foundation of the Southwest is to prevent vision loss and restore sight through innovative research and treatment. Retina Foundation is making a difference in the lives of children and adults living with devastating eye diseases and conditions. Our five laboratories are currently participating in more than 60 clinical research studies and providing more than 2,000 vision assessments each year completely free of charge. Our evaluations are unique because many of our testing methods are only available at our facility in Dallas, Texas. Patients are referred by local ophthalmologists to help in the diagnosis and treatment of their vision loss. Our goal is to continue advancing sight saving treatments to make a lifetime of good vision a reality for everyone.

International Eye Foundation is dedicated to helping people see! Since 1961 IEF has taken up the challenge in poor countries around the world, helping to restore sight and prevent blindness. IEF offers strong new strategic directions that focus on making eye clinics financially self sufficient. IEFs achievements include developing eye health services, training ophthalmologists and para-medicals, and fighting vitamin A deficiency, trachoma and river blindness. IEF is now strengthening the management, quality of service, and income generating activities so that eye clinics are less dependent on outside donors and government funds.

To give dysfunctional biological families an opportunity to heal, grow and develop. To strenghten where possible and appropriate, the foster child's relationship with his/her family to promote reunification. To provide a safe and nurturing environment for abused and neglected children until they can be reunlted wlth their biological families or be adopted.

Carolina Children's Home has cared for South Carolina's young people for close to 100 years. During that time, the Home's mission has evolved to better meet the needs of our society, growing from a traditional rescue orphanage into one of the state's leading rehabilitative treatment centers for abused and neglected children and adolescents. Today, the average age of the CCH resident is 15, and a child may stay with us for as short a time as 30 days or as long as a few years - all dependent upon the child's needs. CCH can assist up to 94 residents at one time and individual treatment programs center around self-esteem, relationships, emotional development and behavioral therapy.

To support those affected by and at risk of child abuse and neglect, through a range of programs and services that promote healing, growth, and healthy relationships.

Project Inform fights the HIV and hepatitis C epidemics by assuring the development of effective treatments and a cure; supporting individuals to make informed choices about their health; advocating for quality, affordable health care; and promoting medical strategies that prevent new infections.
