Gastric Cancer Foundation is a national non-profit dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by gastric cancer and working with leading researchers to find a cure. Gastric Cancer Foundation grew out of one brave patient’s personal journey. When our founder, JP Gallagher, was diagnosed with gastric cancer in 2007, he was a busy 37-year old professional with a young and growing family. In fact, his wife was pregnant with their third child. His diagnosis was both shocking and frightening, and JP immediately began searching for information and hope. Both were in short supply. At the time, there was no centralized resource of information, and what was available offered little hope. JP’s difficult experience – and his recognition of a need for information and encouragement for all stomach cancer patients – became the seed of an idea that grew into the Gastric Cancer Foundation.

TO IMPROVE THE PHYSICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL-BEING OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD BREAST CANCER AND OTHER CANCERS THROUGH INVOLVEMENT IN AND SUPPORT OF OUTRIGGER CANOE PADDLING AND FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES.

The mission of Cancer Support Services is to provide cancer patients support for their financial and emotional needs, including lodging and transport services, in order to facilitate their treatment and healing.

At Komen San Diego, our mission is to save lives by meeting the most critical needs in our community and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer. We are on the front lines of local breast health care, serving uninsured and underinsured women who cannot access breast cancer screening, diagnostics, and treatment without our help. We are saving lives, not just by funding global research but by targeting the most at-risk neighborhoods (including Latina and African American communities) in San Diego and providing local women the widest available spectrum of needed services. Susan G. Komen’s national vision - which our local efforts are integral to achieving - is to reduce the number of breast cancer deaths in the U.S. by 50% by 2026.
