The Global Down Syndrome Foundation is a public non-profit 501(c)(3) dedicated to significantly improving the lives of people with Down syndrome through Research, Medical care, Education and Advocacy. We work to educate governments, educational organizations and society in order to affect legislative and social changes so that every person with Down syndrome has an equitable chance at a satisfying life.
The NPCF (founded May 2009) strives to provide quality of life, sustainability and dignity to those we serve. Through our volunteers we provide an opportunity of hope and caring for those afflicted by this devastating disease. We also provide the opportunity for their family members to help fight one of the leading causes of cancer deaths in the United States. There is no known cure, however, there are new developments everyday to prolong and sustain the quality of life of the patient.
The Calgary Food Bank is a food distribution hub. We provide quality emergency food directly to Calgarians to meet their individual needs (prenatal, homeless, households with children, etc). We also collect food donations for distribution to other charities (including the Mustard Seed, the Community Kitchen Program of Calgary, the Salvation Army and women’s shelters).
