Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) is changing the lives of children with cancer by funding impactful research, raising awareness, supporting families and empowering everyone to help cure childhood cancer. When Alex, who was diagnosed with childhood cancer just before her first birthday, was 4, she told her parents she wanted to set up a front yard lemonade stand. Her plan: to give the money to doctors to help them find a cure. Her first “Alex’s Lemonade Stand,” held with the help of her older brother Patrick, raised an astonishing $2,000 in one day. While bravely fighting her own cancer, Alex continued to set up lemonade stands every year. As news spread of the remarkable girl so dedicated to helping other sick children, people everywhere were inspired to start their own lemonade stands — donating the proceeds to her cause. In 2004 when Alex passed away at the age of 8 — her stand and inspiration had raised more than $1 million towards finding a cure for the disease that took her life. Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) was started by her parents in 2005 to continue the work that Alex began. Our mission is simple: to change the lives of children with cancer through funding impactful research, raising awareness, supporting families and empowering everyone to help cure childhood cancer. Since Alex set up her first lemonade stand in 2000 — truly exemplifying the saying “When life hands you lemons, make lemonade” — we have raised more than $250 million. That money has helped to: - Fund more than 1,000 cutting-edge research projects at nearly 150 institutions. - Create a Travel For Care program to help support families of children receiving treatment and develop resources, such as our SuperSibs program to help people everywhere affected by childhood cancer. Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is the living embodiment of Alex’s spirit of determination and hope. Like Alex, we believe that every person can make a difference. Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation was established in 1978 and is dedicated solely to advancing the mission of Children’s Hospital Colorado. Thanks to donations large and small and the generous philanthropic spirit of our community, Children’s Colorado is able to provide the family-centered care for which we have become world renowned. From conducting cutting-edge research and treatment to building kids’ confidence through our hospital sports program, providing family sleep rooms and integrating arts therapy into the healing process, Children’s Colorado is truly unique in its approach to treatment.

OneSky partners with governments and communities in Asia to provide responsive care and safe learning environments so that marginalized young children can thrive. We began our work in China in 1998 as Half the Sky. Our goal, from the start, was to bring love and responsive care to infants living in child welfare institutions across the country. With a team of early childhood development experts, we set about training caregivers to ensure the youngest and most vulnerable received the best possible start to life. In 2011, the Chinese government invited OneSky to train every child welfare worker in the country. This groundbreaking partnership has transformed the standard of care and directly reached over 200,000 children in China’s 31 provinces. Recognizing that the needs of young children are universal, today, we train professional child caregivers and parents across Asia with internationally recognized training methods and curricula, while partnering with governments to help them transform systems of care. Since 1998 across China, Vietnam and Mongolia and Hong Kong SAR, OneSky has trained 116,502 caregivers and impacted 394,390 children, with a goal to reach countless more in future years.

The Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation is an organization that provides millions of dollars for novel Alzheimer’s research all over the world to investigate the latest, most promising research available. Our mission is to understand the causes of Alzheimer’s disease, improve the care of people living with it, and find a cure. A majority of our funding goes to the Fisher Center Lab at The Rockefeller University that was under the direction of the late Nobel laureate Dr. Paul Greengard, which is now under the leadership of Dr. Nathaniel Heintz. The Center has provided researchers around the globe with a conceptual framework for understanding the disease process and continues to be at the forefront of one day finding a cure for Alzheimer’s disease. We also fund research at NYU Langone, where a handful of clinical trials are taking place. The Foundation’s national comprehensive Alzheimer’s Information Program, the heart of which is the Foundation’s website, www.ALZinfo.org continues to spearhead efforts to increase awareness of and education about Alzheimer’s disease to the general public. The website provides in-depth information on the most current research studies, treatments, and disease management approaches. We also publish a magazine (Preserving Your Memory®) that provides readers with information about Alzheimer’s and how to take the necessary steps to prepare adequately if they or a loved one fall victim to the disease. Another facet of our Information Program is the e-newsletter, which contains updates and helpful tips. Our vision is working towards a future where Alzheimer’s is nothing but a memory.
