The Mystic River Watershed is a living system full of fish and wildlife—including one of the largest river herring migration in the Commonwealth. The watershed includes thousands of acres of open space and parks along the river that offer countless recreational opportunities. The Mystic River Watershed Association uses science, advocacy, and education to ensure a vibrant, healthy, and resilient environment.

Founded in 1972, the Granby Land Trust GLT works to preserve the natural heritage of the town through the conservation of its scenic and historic vistas, open space corridors, wildlife habitat, ecologically sensitive areas, and agricultural land.

The mission of Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust is to care for the lands and waters of the Damariscotta-Pemaquid Region by conserving special places, protecting water quality, creating trails and public access, and deepening connections to nature.

The Ashokan Center inspires learning and builds community through shared experiences in nature, history, music and art. Since 1980 Ashokan has been a destination and a home-away-from-home for music and dance enthusiasts of all ages eager to delve deeper into traditions and self expression. Ashokan education programs allow students to explore, discover, and learn through programs in nature, history and art. Twice a year, the Hoots are three day festivals of music, nature, and celebration. Ashokan memories last a lifetime!

Clean River Project is a non-profit organization with a mission of cleaning and preserving a 45-mile stretch of the Merrimack River, a vast river that flows through fifteen cities in northeast Massachusetts. We are the only regional organization cleaning and protecting this expansive river, which is the most vital, dynamic natural resource in this region. The Merrimack River serves as water supply for over 600,000 area residents, it is a popular waterway for outdoor enthusiasts and is the main regional outlet of fresh water into the Atlantic Ocean.

The Wright Locke Farm Conservancy promotes the understanding of agriculture, natural science, and history among the youth and adults of Winchester and surrounding towns through our educational, agricultural, social and recreational programs and through the use and presentation of the historic farm buildings and objects to help current and future generations develop skills that promote cooperation, self-reliance, and prudent respect for nature.
