The East Lyme Public Trust Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation created by a group of dedicated citizens of southeastern Connecticut to promote, provide and protect an improved quality of life for all people in the region and state through its activities in the public trust.

Our mission is to fight climate change, increase biodiversity, and improve the lives of local populations through sustainable reforestation projects.

The Norwalk River Watershed Association, incorporated in 1996, is a not-for-profit membership organization whose mission is to improve the water quality and fish and wildlife habitats of the 40,000-acre Norwalk River watershed; to restore the riverbanks, meadows and forests through invasive plant abatement and promotion of native species; to encourage recreational use of the river, the surrounding open space and its trails; and to promote research, legislative advocacy, education, cooperation, and action on the part of the stakeholders in the seven watershed towns in Fairfield County, CT (Ridgefield, Redding, Wilton, New Canaan, Weston, and Norwalk) and NY (Lewisboro).

TO ENGAGE IN AND OTHERWISE PROMOTE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC, THE PRESERVATION OF NATURAL RESOURCES OF THE TOWN OF MADISON, INCLUDING WATER RESOURCES, MARSHLAND, SWAMP, WOODLAND, AND OPEN SPACES, AND THE PLANT AND ANIMAL LIFE THEREIN AND THE PRESERVATION OF UNIQUE HISTORIC AND SCENIC SITES.

The Old Lyme Land Trust is a non-profit organization dedicated to conserving Old Lyme’s natural, scenic and historic land and water resources for the benefit of the public now and for generations to come. The Trust accomplishes its purpose by acquiring land through donation and purchase, managing the land and by providing education to the public.

The mission of Joshua's Tract Conservation and Historic Trust is to permanently protect and maintain the land and preserve the heritage of northeastern Connecticut for the benefit and well-being of present and future generations.

Mission: The Peconic Land Trust conserves Long Island's working farms, natural lands, and heritage for our communities now and in the future.Impact: The conservation of working farms, natural lands, and heritage is closely inter-connected to many benefits that are important to all us who know and love the area ~ fresh local produce, miles of hiking trails, clean and productive bays and wetlands, drinking water protection, strong local economy, healthy ecosystems, storm water protection and buffer against effects of climate change, free public garden, historic preservation, lower property taxes (because of undeveloped land), and continued enjoyment of this unique region for generations to come.

IDENTIFYING AND ELIMINATING ENVIRONMENTAL THREATS TO HEMPSTEAD HARBOR AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES.

The Hastings Center addresses social and ethical issues in health care, science, and technology. Through our projects and publications, The Hastings Center shapes ideas that influence key opinion leaders, including health policy-makers, regulators, health care professionals, lawyers, legislators, and judges. Our analyses also influence professional practice: from end-of-life care to psychiatric practice to immigrant health care, we have helped to shape the standards of practice adopted by physicians, nurses, and lawyers. Founded in 1969 by philosopher Daniel Callahan and psychoanalyst Willard Gaylin, The Hastings Center is the oldest independent, nonpartisan, interdisciplinary research institute of its kind in the world.

Scenic Hudson preserves land and farms and creates parks that connect people with the inspirational power of the Hudson River, while fighting threats to the river and natural resources that are the foundation of the valley’s prosperity.Our work is guided by our vision for the region:The Hudson Valley is a community of informed and engaged citizens working to make the region a model of vibrant riverfront cities and towns linked by inviting parks and trails, beautiful and resilient landscapes, and productive farms.
