To encourage the intelligent management of the life-sustaining resources of the earth – its essential water resources – its protective forests and plant life – and its dependent wildlife – and to promote and encourage the knowledge and appreciation of these resources, their interrelationship and wise use, without which there can be little hope for a continuing abundant life.

THE ORGANIZATION'S PRIMARY PURPOSE IS TO PROVIDE SUPPORT, PROTECTION AND EDUCATION ABOUT THE ECOLOGY OF THE MATANZAS RIVER. In the 1980s, a group of residents in south St. Johns County were looking for a platform for engaging in local politics and better protecting area ecological resources. They formed Friends of Matanzas, Inc., which began as a relatively small coalition of activists with modest goals. The organization has since blossomed into a true citizen’s task force tackling major local and regional issues. Friends of Matanzas has worked on several projects in several categories including the St. Johns County Comprehensive Plan and Development Code, transportation planning, land use planning, and environmental and waterway protection.

The Florida Wildflower Foundation nurtures the awareness, understanding and enjoyment of Florida's native wildflowers through education, planting and research projects that increase the presence of wildflowers and support the wildlife depending upon them.

Ensuring snow leopard survival and conserving mountain landscapes by expanding environmental awareness and sharing innovative practices through community stewardship and partnerships.The Snow Leopard Conservancy (SLC) works with local partners and herder communities, the front line in preserving the biodiversity of Central Asia’s high mountains by providing technical and financial assistance for activities linked to stewardship and biodiversity conservation. Our programs build community ownership of projects, long-term self-reliance, and ecosystem health. We involve communities in non-invasive baseline research on snow leopards, their prey and habitat, blending western science with indigenous knowledge.

Friends of Warner Parks is dedicated to the preservation, protection, and stewardship of the Warner Parks. It works to protect the natural and historical integrity of the area by supporting recreational activities, maintaining and enhancing its features and promoting programs that inspire appreciation and conservation of the Parks.

Nashville Zoo's mission is to inspire a culture of understanding and discovery of our natural world through conservation, innovation and leadership. Utilizing diverse learning opportunities, the Zoo’s overall conservation and education message is to provide visitors of all ages a better understanding of and connection with the natural world. The Cayucos Land Conservancy (CLC) is committed to the enduring preservation of the rural greenbelt that surrounds Cayucos, California. Preserving this historic and stunning open space is the primary goal of the land conservancy, so that this and future generations can enjoy this beautiful place for many years to come.

Agua Pura Para El Pueblo is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization founded to help communities and families obtain safe, clean drinking water and improve their sanitation. Over one billion people world wide lack access to safe water, and a million children die each year due to preventable diarrheal diseases. With a focus on Latin America and the Caribbean, we promote simple small scale methods and techniques that people can use to make their water safe to drink. We also give seminars and demonstrations both in the United States and in Latin America to other nongovernmental organizations and to community groups on methods of water purification.
