Cranbrook Educational Community (CEC) is one of the world's leading centers of education, science and art. Comprised of a graduate Academy of Art, contemporary Art Museum, House & Gardens, natural history museum and Pre-K through 12 independent college preparatory schools, Cranbrook welcomes thousands of visitors and students to its campus each year. Founded by Detroit philanthropists George and Ellen Booth in 1904, Cranbrook's campus features the work of world-renowned architects. In 1989, Cranbrook was designated as a National Historic Landmark.

Darrow School, founded in 1932 on the site of the original Shaker community, is a boarding and day school for grades 9-12 offering a comprehensive, hands-on, college-preparatory curriculum in a supportive environment. A 5-to-1 student-to-teacher ratio allows for a high level of individual attention, and an average class size of nine students affords all students the opportunity to actively participate in the learning process. The Latin School of Chicago, founded in 1888, is a co-educational independent day school for students in grades junior kindergarten through twelve. The school was designed to provide students with a rigorous college-preparatory education in the classical tradition, with a curriculum that was heavily influenced by Classical studies and the study of the Greek and Latin languages, hence the name "Latin School." Latin is still taught at the school today and is offered starting in sixth-grade. The Latin School of Chicago provides its students with a rigorous and innovative educational program in a community that embraces diversity of people, cultures and ideas. Memphis University School is a college-preparatory school dedicated to academic excellence and the development of well-rounded young men of strong moral character, consistent with the school's Christian tradition.

Founded in 1905, the McCallie School is an all-boys boarding and day school with approximately 900 students in grades 6-12. The McCallie School's mission is to prepare its students for college and for life. The school is dedicated to the academic, physical, spiritual, and emotional growth of boys. It seeks to inspire and motivate them: to pursue excellence and take pride in one's work and achievements; to lead lives of personal honor; to be responsible in family and personal relationships; and to manifest concern for the welfare of others. McCallie believes that its on-going Christian tradition builds a strong moral foundation and a sense of civic and social duty.

Founded in 2000, Marian Middle School is a Catholic school serving adolescent girls of all religious, racial, and ethnic backgrounds. We are committed to breaking the cycle of poverty by fostering girls' spiritual, academic, social, moral, emotional, and physical development in preparation for and for successful completion of college preparatory high schools.
