UNION GOSPEL MISSION

Union Gospel Mission is an urban relief organization based in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside (DTES) and operating since 1940. With locations throughout Metro Vancouver and the city of Mission, UGM is ideally positioned to help those who need it most. The heart of UGM is to help to break the cycle of poverty, addiction and despair and to offer dignity to those who feel cast aside and a chance for transformation and integration in to healthy communities and lifestyles. Through a comprehensive continuum of care – including outreach, meals, emergency shelter, alcohol and drug recovery, education, programs for children and families, affordable housing, art therapy and a one of a kind women’s day shelter in the DTES – UGM offers help and hope while creating brighter futures for men, women, children, seniors and families struggling in our communities.

ABC Head Start Society

ABC Head Start provides a proven program that helps preschool children develop the critical thinking, language, social/emotional and physical skills they need to be ready for school and achieve success in learning and life. Our early learning program integrates skills development with health nutrition and other community supports for children. We provide wrap around services for vulnerable families to help them support their child’s learning and development, promote a healthy family and address issues such as poverty, employment, settlement, English as a second language, mental health, isolation, family violence, and many more complex issues. ABC Head Start works with a wide range of community partners to meet the needs of children and families.

TRANS CANADA TRAIL

The Trans Canada Trail is a 22,500-kilometre recreational trail winding its way through every province and territory, from the Atlantic to the Pacific and Arctic Oceans. When completed, it will be the world's longest recreational trail, linking close to 1000 communities and over 34 million Canadians. Today almost 73 percent (16,500 kilometres) is developed. Thousands of people are taking to the Trail to walk, hike, cycle, ski, horseback ride, canoe and snowmobile.

Mile End Community Mission

Mile End Community Mission has been a long-standing pillar in the Mile End Community. An overwhelming number of residents use our services yearly for the betterment of their lives. These services contribute to their emotional, physical and spiritual needs as they continuously strive to become empowered members of this beautiful community. As the only weekly food bank in all of Mile End, we also provide emergency clothing and food. The centre even acts as a drop-in centre at times providing special meals and a place to go when there is nowhere else to turn. A few of our services include: - Crisis Management - Accompaniment - Active Listening - Referrals - Pastoral Care and Services - Legal Clinic - Advocacy All in all, Mile End Community Mission supports those in the community that need it the most. This community is one that you and your establishment are a part of. There is no other organization in our area that offers the same services as we do.

LYMPHOMA CANADA

We are Canada’s only national organization focused entirely on lymphoma. A registered charity, we are led by a volunteer board of directors drawn from the lymphoma community. Our board includes lymphoma patients and medical and research professionals. A small, dedicated staff brings expertise in program implementation, communications, fundraising, and administration. We are guided by expert members of a Scientific Advisory Board. Lymphoma patients across the country help organize, and participate in, education events, support groups, and online forums. Lymphoma Canada operates in both official languages, with staffed offices in Ontario and Quebec and a volunteer presence across the country.

WEST BROADWAY COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION

West Broadway Development Corporation operates a number of programs, however our main fundraising drive is for the Good Food Club (GFC). The GFC makes healthy, nutricious, affordable food available in West Broadway and inner-city Winnipeg. Help us create food security, so that all people, at all times, have access to safe, nutricious food to meet dietary needs for an active and healthy live. Our program is guided by the membership, primarily people living below the poverty line. Members can volunteer for "sweat equity points" and exchange these for healthy food.
