The Baron Jay Family Foundation is a 501(c)(3) federally tax exempt nonprofit organization that was legally incorporated in 2004. We are committed to promoting health awareness, relationship guidance, employment preparedness arts education, and financial literacy in economically distressed and underserved communities. We host workshops and programs for at-risk youth that prepare them to become responsible, civic-minded, respectful, and productive citizens. We also sponsor free training programs in computer skills training and English literacy to local communities in underdeveloped regions of the world such as West Central Africa. One of our main goals is to increase digital literacy through computer skill development in poverty stricken communities. All of our workshops are designed to give our beneficiaries practical life-skills that promote self-esteem, empathy, stress reduction, anger management, academic improvement, and civic leadership. Founded in 1973 by community and student activists under the name University Community Video, the organization employed the powerful tool of video art and technology to elicit community dialogue, inspire social change and empower people to tell their own stories. Over time, we evolved and embraced a range of artistic media, changing our name in the 1980s and growing into one of the nation?s premier community-based arts centers. We receive recognition for our success engaging the power of the arts to increase social connections between people from different social, economic and ethnic groups. Our multi-disciplinary art programs inspire people to make changes in their lives and communities. By stimulating broader civic dialogue and by giving voice to the issues and experiences of underrepresented communities, we contribute to a stronger, healthier society. Intermedia Arts presents and supports the creation of the highest quality artistic work created through an authentic, community-engaged process. We place particular emphasis on empowering underrepresented communities by providing space, support and recognition of the rights of specific communities to assert their place in cultural life. We encourage authentic expression of individual cultural values, stories and histories - in their own words, in their own ways.

Community Media Center of Marin provides access to training and the tools of media production so residents can disseminate television programming to the local community via Marin TV's three cable channels.

Portland Film Festival is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing filmmakers and audiences, and to celebrating the power of a good story. The festival focuses on the people, ideas, technology, skills, and artistry behind filmmaking and provides both entertaining and educational opportunities to the public.

Founded in 1991, we create and produce cultural programming about the arts and architecture.

Shirzanan works to expand access to sport for Muslim women and girls worldwide. We use sports and media to catalyze discussion and advancements in women's rights and gender equality. We produce and disseminate stories - particularly to populations whose governments limit free information and women's rights. Shirzanan is the Persian word for "female heroes" and an apt description of the Muslim female athletes who triumph over cultural, social and religious barriers to excel at sport. We promote them as role models who speak out and stand up against discrimination. To shape a positive narrative around Muslim females and counter stereotypes exacerbated by mainstream media, we train female journalists to cover female athletes and train female athletes as role models and advocates. We uphold the Olympic Charter's statement that "The practice of sport is a human right." Everyone deserves access to sport and its consequent health, academic, economic, social and gender equality.
