The Baroque Music Festival of Corona del Mar began in 1981 with the simple goal of creating a venue for historically stylistic interpretations of the great masterpieces of the Baroque period — and a few later neo-baroque works. Each year the festival hosts the talents of singers and instrumentalists who are informed and sensitive to the Baroque style, the latter playing instruments that are either period antiques or modern reproductions.
