Begin Again Horse Rescue

Our mission is to provide a safe environment for at-risk, neglected, abandoned and injured horses; to prevent as many as possible from going to slaughter or being euthanized. We will rehabilitate them when possible and find permanent homes for them. We will also promote non-cruelty to animals by focusing efforts on raising awareness and disseminating information to the public concerning the nature and proper care of horses and the plight these animals face at this time. Additionally, we will help community members maintain their horses at home when illness or financial difficulties arise temporarily and we provide funding for gelding stallions to prevent indiscriminate breeding situations.

Poodle Rescue Of New England

Poodle Rescue of New England is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue and placement of homeless Poodles within the six New England states. Millions of companion animals-many purebred-are euthanized each year, and at least half are adoptable. Many of our dogs are former impulse purchases by owners who didn?t consider the ten to fifteen year commitment of owning a Poodle. Some were abandoned or mistreated. Poodles are referred to us through our hotline and from area dog officers, veterinarians, shelters, other rescue groups and our network of volunteers. Each dog is evaluated for behavior and temperament and receives a comprehensive medical exam and all necessary treatment. We do not have a shelter. Our dogs are cared for by our dedicated foster care volunteers in their homes throughout New England. Our Poodles are carefully matched to the new family?s home environment and lifestyle. Our goal is to place the right Poodle in the right home.

Northeast Boston Terrier Rescue

Northeast Boston Terrier Rescue (NEBTR) is comprised of volunteers based in NY, NJ, PA, CT, DE, and parts of MD, and serves Boston Terriers in need within reach of our helping hands. Most dogs in foster care for placement are adolescent to adult dogs in need of re-homing in life for a multitude of reasons and will need caring hands to guide them as they transition into new homes. All of our rescue dogs are fostered and evaluated for a 2 week minimum to allow us to assess their personality and provide them with basic foundation skills - House/Crate training, basic manners - to ease their transition into new homes. It is our belief such work in foster care better prepares dogs for success and helps forms lasting bonds.

Helping Paws Pet Rescue

Promoting Animal Welfare on Superior's Shores Helping PAWS Pet Rescue, Inc. was founded for the sole purpose of helping to stop the suffering of companion animals caused by homelessness, overpopulation, and mistreatment. Our goal is that no adoptable companion animal ever be euthanized for lack of medical care and a good home. This goal is not limited to dogs and cats, but extends equally to horses, rabbits, birds and other domestic species. Our mission is to proactively aid homeless and unwanted animals by offering, not just a "humane" alternative, but to provide in each case the best possible process that would result in each individual pet finding its forever-home. Our mission is unique in that we include not only young, healthy homeless pets, but also owner surrenders and individuals with medical needs that would cause them to be rejected by or euthanized by other organizations. Helping PAWS Pet Rescue, Inc. believes that the means to accomplishing our mission should be two-fold: Serving animals and educating people. Serving Animals: Spaying and neutering all homeless pets in our care prior to adoption as well as offering low-cost spays and neuters to low income families is primary. Veterinary care is available to homeless pets, with procedures, medications, and special diets provided as needed. We arrange foster homes for pets awaiting placement and adoption services by application. Educating People: Equally important is education of the public in every way possible to keep their chosen pet happy, well, and in their home. Our presence at Country Care Pet Hospital promotes daily our philosophy of preventive maintenance, optimal nutrition, medical care and the importance of the human-animal bond. Helping PAWS participates in a great variety of local pet-related events and presentation opportunities, including visits to local schools, retail outlets and community groups.
