The Roar Foundation, founded as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in 1983, exists solely to support The Shambala Preserve. Our mission is to educate the public about the dangers of private ownership of exotic animals. Huge numbers of exotic dangerous animals are bred and sold in the United States for illegal purposes. Private ownership presents a grave danger to the public and is cruel and unfair to these animals. More stringent legislation is needed to prohibit breeding and selling. We are actively involved in legislating this on federal and state levels. Prior to 1983 I had been rescuing the exotic felines since 1972. Up to the present, The Shambala Preserve has given sanctuary to over 235 exotic felines - lion, tiger, cougar, black and spotted leopard, serval, bobcat, Asian leopard cat, snow leopard, cheetah, lynx, tigon, liger and African elephant. All have come to the Preserve after confiscation by authorities, such as California Fish and Game, U.S. Department of Agriculture, SPCA and Humane Societies. They are from roadside zoos and private citizens who realize they have purchased an animal they can no longer handle.

Cloud Dancers Therapeutic Horsemanship Program, Inc. (Cloud Dancers) is an Albuquerque-based recreational horsemanship program founded in 1982 for people with disabilities. We are a 501c(3) non-profit organization located in Corrales, New Mexico. Our goal is to provide individuals with an opportunity for a unique therapeutic, recreational experience in a fun, safe environment. Cloud Dancers is an Affiliate Center Member of PATH Intl. ( Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship Inernational). Cloud Dancers offers a Therapeutic Riding Program.

The Human-Animal Connection is an educational training program designed to bring out the best in people and animals. We bring therapy animals to anyone experiencing stress or compassion fatigue in the line of duty -- Veterans, health care providers, and first responders. Our services are offered free of charge to people and we use a structured method of therapeutic interaction based on mutual respect, gentleness, and empathy with the goal of increasing resilience and well-being.

Utah's Hogle Zoo has a rich, 100 year history. Guests come to appreciate and understand the animal kingdom - Nurturing respect for nature. It all began with an Asian elephant named Princess Alice.  100 years later, Utah's Hogle Zoo boasts over 800 animals - including three African elephants, Amur tigers and a polar bear. Beyond being a wonderful outing for families (the Zoo is one of the top paid-for attractions in the state), Hogle Zoo strives to offer educational opportunities through interactive exhibits and hands-on learning. Hogle Zoo is also committed to conservation and fostering a love of the animal kingdom and its environment. Just as you've likely discovered, trying to feed your own family, it can get expensive! At the Cochrane Humane Society we care for lost, abandoned, injured and surrendered animals. The Society staff and volunteers strive to find loving homes for all of the animals that come into our care. We offer resources to adopters to try and make each adoption a permanent, successful one. Each year we hold several annual, community events to raise funds for the Society and provide family activities for our community.

By extending an olive branch to folks like you in our community, we can be a voice for voiceless.

The Bow Valley SPCA has completed the construction of our innovative No-Kill, No-Cage Adoption Centre – the first of its kind in Canada. The Carla Cumming Sojonky Adoption Centre's design is based on the organization's no-kill, no-cage philosophy. This philosophy requires the environment to be more sensitive to the needs of dogs and cats. Design elements include dog cabins and cat chalets which comfortably accommodate three to five animals, allowing for animal compatibility and in-room visits with people. This creates a more people- and animal-friendly environment. The Bow Valley SCPA’s no-kill, no-cage philosophy extends beyond the Centre design. Now that we are open – we are busy generating greater awareness in humane animal treatment and reducing the number of abandoned animals in the Bow Valley through our adoption services, humane education and spay/neuter programs.
