The Surfrider Foundation is a non-profit, grassroots organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of our world’s oceans, waves and beaches through a powerful activist network. Founded in 1984 by a handful of visionary surfers in Malibu, California, the Surfrider Foundation now maintains more than 250,000 supporters, activists and members worldwide..

How Your Donations Help

  • $1,000 sends 1 Surfrider staff member to Washington DC to provide concrete, real-world testimony to inform and improve legislation on coastal issues
  • $500 educates 2,000 school children about recycling and keeping our waters clean
  • $250 removes 1,000 pounds of trash from the beach by providing bags and gloves
  • $100 protects 2,640 feet or half a mile of US coast through our beach preservation program
