United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
The ECUADORIAN RIVERS INSTITUTE contributes towards actions to meet the UN Sustainable Development Goals and helps to protect the needs and interests of present and future generations by preserving natural, free-flowing watershed corridors in Ecuador, supporting local river conservation initiatives and sustainable economic benefits through responsible ecotourism, educating about best management practices and alternatives for renewable energy, extractive industries, and waste management to preserve natural resources and freshwater biodiversity, and sharing our experience with the consideration of public participation and the use of strategic social and environmental evaluations in the planning and development process.
