Pledge to make a difference, together.
Student Global Ambassador Program (SGAP Leaders) empowers underrepresented teens to become agents of change in their communities and beyond by thinking critically, applying STEM, and championing social impact.
Our workshops challenge our teens from different schools, regions and countries to think critically around real issues that affect real lives; as a result they develop leadership and team building skills; and through the process, they gain a voice and feel empowered.

After 4-5 months of ideating, team-building, execution, grant writing, budgeting and reporting - our FELLOWS present their projects during their graduation. Of the 63 who applied, 12 FELLOWS were selected. Our goal is to roll-out our FELLOWS program to multiple locations.
Our Service Fellows shared their projects during The Hub Podcast. Our teens found their voices, shared their stories and built their confidence in the process.
Students assume the role as summer interns for Ultimate Clean Energy Solutions (UCES), a consulting company that advises federal, commercial, and industrial entities that want to shift toward renewable energy. UCES was awarded a contract with Picatinny Arsenal. Students work within 3-5 person research teams to determine how best to increase Picatinny Arsenal’s clean energy. Each team develops a portfolio consisting of solar photovoltaic panels, wind turbines, and geothermal heat pump systems that would allow Picatinny Arsenal to obtain 50% or more of their current energy needs from on-site renewable energy within the next 5 years, then present their recommendations and supporting rationale.
SGAP Leaders Alumni, supporters and advisors speak to students about topics of interests. High school students choose the topics. Speakers are 26 years old or younger.
Mixed school groups of 5 grapple with achieving net zero carbon as it relates to one of three factors - transportation, food, solar energy - for a fictitious high school entitled UCES. Climate coaches and subject matter experts judge each student group. The top 2 groups will present to the School Board (subject matter experts from MD - EPA, Funder(s), SGAP Leaders Advisors and Board Members, Engineers etc.) Student groups will address the challenge head-on and present their proposed solutions: 1) how to achieve next zero carbon at UCES high school (groups will choose transportation, solar or food), and 2) how to advocate for vulnerable communities negatively impacted by climate injustices. Next, student groups of 5 present their ideas and supporting details to an audience of subject matter experts. Student groups get actionable advice from the experts who score students based on a rubric. The top scoring groups will receive individual and team awards (shadowing, internships etc) Students learn to collaborate among mixed school groups, enhance their understanding of solar energy, electrical vehicles, carbon footprint, calculate GHG associated with UCEs high school, as well as their own, and think critically about climate and environmental injustice
SGAP Leaders is where underserved teens develop leadership and soft skills through the lens of STEM, Sustainability and Social Impact. For instance, our signature Sustainability Challenge workshops simulate real-world challenges for our teens, where they grapple with climate and environmental impact issues within their communities. We encourage our teens to view their community challenge as a part of a greater global challenge.
