Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) acts as a first responder to vulnerable communities affected by disasters around the world. GEM is dedicated to restoring hope and opportunity in the lives of those most affected by disasters. The organization provides immediate relief, assists communities during the gap period before receiving assistance from other institutions, and engages in long-term recovery efforts with sustainable development practices. This three-phased approach allows GEM to provide individuals and families with the help they need when they need it most.

Direct Relief improves the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergency situations by mobilizing and providing essential medical resources needed for their care. Direct Relief works in all 50 U.S. states and in more than 90 countries to expand access to medicine and healthcare by equipping doctors and nurses with lifesaving medical resources.

Airlink is a global humanitarian organization delivering critical aid to communities in crisis by providing airlift and logistical solutions to nonprofit partners, changing the way the humanitarian community responds to disasters around the world. Our funding comes from donations and in-kind awards from airlines, aviation sector businesses, foundations, and individuals. We build long-term relationships with airlines, who provide Airlink with access to airlift to harness the power and speed of aviation to deliver humanitarian aid and responders in the wake of natural or man-made disasters. Airlink ensures the right aid gets to communities in need at the right time.

Since 1974, Duke Ellington School of the Arts has provided equitable access to a life-changing arts education for the District's talented youth, regardless of background or ability to a pay. Ellington is the only DC public high school to offer a dual curriculum encompassing professional arts training and academic enrichment. It has a 4-star rating and is one of the highest ranked public high schools in DC with 97% of students graduating on-time and 95% of graduates enrolling in institutions of higher-learning, often receiving over $10 million in scholarships. Our students’ deep commitment to the arts empowers them to succeed academically. The Ellington Fund is a non-profit organization and the the charitable arm of the Duke Ellington School of the Arts. Chartered in 1934, the Animal Defense League of Texas (ADL) is the oldest no-kill shelter for abandoned, abused, or neglected dogs and cats in South Central Texas. Through the operation of two facilities, a centrally located 12-acre campus and the city-owned Paul Jolly Center for Adoptions, ADL saves the lives of vulnerable animals primarily originating from the most poverty-stricken communities in San Antonio. A full veterinary hospital housed on the main campus provides spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, and microchipping for all pets in ADL’s care. In addition, ADL performs specialized surgeries for animals with complex medical conditions and is the first organization to provide no-cost mobile wellness clinics to historically underserved areas. ADL’s partnership with Animal Care Services (ACS) is instrumental in helping the City of San Antonio back to achieving a “No-Kill” status.

The Trevor Project is the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning) young people. The organization works to save young lives by providing support through free and confidential suicide prevention and crisis intervention programs on platforms where young people spend their time: a 24/7 phone lifeline, chat, and text. The organization also runs TrevorSpace, the world’s largest safe space social networking site for LGBTQ youth, and operates innovative education, research, and advocacy programs.

The mission of Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is to provide impartial medical relief to the victims of war, disease, and natural or man-made disaster, without regard to race, religion, or political affiliation. A non-profit, self-governed, member-based organisation, MSF's global reach is demonstrated by a presence in over 72 countries and territories with medical humanitarian projects, 9,904,200 medical consultations conducted by humanitarian teams, and 877,300 patients admitted to MSF hospitals or clinics around the world.

Founded in 1947, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is committed to providing expert, compassionate care to children and adults with cancer, while advancing the understanding, treatment, cure, and prevention of cancer and related diseases. As an affiliate of Harvard Medical School and a Comprehensive Cancer Center designated by the National Cancer Institute, the Institute also provides training for new generations of physicians and scientists, designs programs that promote public health particularly among high-risk and underserved populations and disseminates innovative patient therapies and scientific discoveries in Boston, across the United States and throughout the world.
