Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles (BBBSLA) is a youth empowerment organization whose mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. Los Angeles is home to one of the most diverse populations in the country and along with being one of the largest affiliates of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, BBBSLA is also one of the largest youth mentoring organizations in Southern California. Every year, we impact nearly 1,500 children throughout Los Angeles County—many of whom are referred to as being “at-risk” or “high-risk” youths. With the help of our amazing staff, army of selfless volunteers and generous donors, we continue to empower lives and provide our Littles with the opportunities and skill sets they need and deserve in order to achieve, succeed, and awaken their full potential.

By working together to solve problems and share knowledge, we help ensure that our members have access to the best information and communication technology and practices when serving people in the developing world. Be The Match Foundation supports the life-saving mission of Be The Match/National Marrow Donor Program, ensuring that patients diagnosed with blood cancers such as leukemia and other diseases get the marrow or cord blood transplant they need for a second chance at life. A transplant offers hope for a cure. We connect patients with their genetically matched donors and provide comprehensive support throughout the transplant journey, from diagnosis through recovery.

Children's Community School is an independent, non-profit PreK through Grade 8 school that lays the foundation for students of an urban community to achieve educational success by offering a robust curriculum and unique experiences by developing their individual character and by cultivating strong family involvement.

The Family Place empowers victims of family violence by providing safe housing, counseling and skills that create independence while building community engagement and advocating for social change to stop family violence.

Ment’or is a nonprofit organization devoted to inspiring culinary excellence and preserving the traditions and quality of cuisine in America. Our mission is to enhance the careers of ambitious culinary professionals by offering them unique educational opportunities, internships, and access to a Culinary Council of esteemed mentors across the country. The most promising young professionals will also have the opportunity to represent the United States at the prestigious Bocusse d’Or competition, held in Lyon, France biennially.

Swim Across America, Inc is dedicated to raising money and awareness for cancer research, prevention and treatment through swimming- related events. With the help of hundreds of volunteers nationwide and past and current Olympians, SAA is helping find a cure for cancer through athleticism, community outreach and direct service.

Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) works on behalf of the 15 million Americans with food allergies, including all those at risk for life-threatening anaphylaxis. This potentially deadly disease affects 1 in 13 children in the United States – or roughly two in every classroom. FARE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was formed in 2012 as the result of a merger between the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network and the Food Allergy Initiative. FARE’s mission is to ensure the safety and inclusion of individuals with food allergies while relentlessly seeking a cure.

Operation Gratitude seeks to honor the service of our military and first responders by creating opportunities to express gratitude. In March 2003, Operation Gratitude sent its first four individually addressed care packages to deployed service members in Iraq. In subsequent years, Operation Gratitude grew and intentionally expanded its reach to include recruit graduates, veterans, military families, and first responders. Our actions have served to lift the spirits of more than 3.3 million individuals and have provided opportunities for millions of Americans to express their appreciation for those who serve and protect our nation and their communities. We actively honor the service of our military and first responders by creating opportunities to express gratitude in pursuit of our vision: all who serve believe that the American people care.

We are a community of educators in Harlem, working to revolutionize public education in our nation by building a K-12 public school district and an educators’ institute, based on the ideals of progressive pedagogy. Our goal is to deliver a first-rate educational experience that is personally rewarding to students and empowers them to achieve in school and in life.
