Brain Matters

Brain Matters, Inc. is recognized by the IRS as a 501 (c) (3) public charity. Our purpose is to promote medical research of brain and skull base tumors by supporting hospitals and medical centers conducting medical research in the area of brain and skull base tumors; to promote treatment for these tumors, and the non-profit organizations which support patients undergoing treatments for brain and skull based brain tumors.

Told in their own words, survivors’ stories cross borders, conflicts and generations. We believe storytelling fosters the healing process and illuminates our common humanity. Hearing survivors’ stories allows people everywhere to better understand the violence and oppression in the world today and demand change. We utilize available technology and distribution channels to collect and share survivors’ stories.

The Italian Cultural Foundation at Casa Belvedere is a registered, nonpartisan, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that seeks to preserve, promote and celebrate the legacy of our ancestors by offering a myriad of cultural and educational activities, programs and special events to the public at large. Situated atop Grymes Hill, overlooking the Verrazano Narrows Bridge and New York Harbor, the 1908 building was the home of the Roebling-Stirn family and designated a New York city landmark building in 2001. The Stirn mansion is listed on the New York state and national register of historic places, renamed "Casa Belvedere" in 2008 meaning "house with a beautiful view." It is poised to become a local and regional cultural destination.

K9s for Warriors

K9s For Warriors is dedicated to ending Veteran Suicide through the use of highly trained Service Dogs. With the majority of dogs being rescues, this innovative program allows the K9/Warrior team to build an unwavering bond that facilitates their collective healing and recovery.
