Swarthmore is a centre for lifelong learning. Our main aim is to encourage people who want to learn but might not feel comfortable in more formal educational institutions. EMICS is a team of volunteer doctors who attend emergency incidents at the request of and in support of staff from the East Midlands Ambulance Service. EMICS doctors provide expert treatment and care at the scene, before the patient reaches hospital, dramatically increasing their chance of survival.
