EVERGREEN HOSPICE

Our trained volunteers and professional staff provide practical care and support to individuals and their families dealing with life-threatening illness in their own homes. Care plans are flexible and designed for each family -- may include such services as respite care, caregiver support and emotional support. The Living Room Program is offered one day each week to provide respite for families and life affirming activities for clients. One to one grief counselling and support groups for kids, teens and adults enhance bereavement follow-up offered to families served by Evergreen as well as the general public. Bereavement resource mailings are also available on a monthly basis. A resource library is available at the Evergreen office. Services are offered at no charge to the client, but government funding provides only a small portion of our budget.

CHURCH OF ST. MARY MAGDALENE

We invite you to be part of any of the weekly and daily masses and other events happening at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene. On Sunday we offer three distinct liturgies at 8:00, 9:30 and 11:00 with Evensong and Benediction once a month. Our 9:30 Sunday School has attractive programs for different age groups. Children also participate in our Orff ensemble and our newest choir. Our Gallery and Ritual Choirs attract some of Toronto's best singers and our 9:30 mass also offers additional opportunities for singers to participate along with gifted instumentalists. We are well known for our rich community life with frequent pot-luck suppers on Feast Days throughout the year. You can learn more about us at our Parish Website which will also provide information about our social media sites. West Neighbourhood House

West Neighbourhood House (West NH) formerly St. Christopher House, has been a multi-service neighbourhood centre serving all age groups in downtown west Toronto since 1912. The mission of West NH is to enable less advantaged individuals, families and groups in the community to gain greater control over their lives and within their community. We work with people living on a low-income, newcomers, Indigenous peoples, people who are homeless or underhoused, job seekers, and women experiencing violence. While the core of our work is programs and services, West NH also works upstream on poverty reduction, housing, and the determinants of health through social policy, research with partners and community organizing to achieve our mission.

MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS SOCIETY OF CANADA (MS Society of Canada)

The Society receives almost no funding from government.

LAKERIDGE HEALTH FOUNDATION

Lakeridge Health invests in equipment to pinpoint and treat health problems quickly and accurately to meet the healthcare needs of Durham Region families. Our medical professionals deliver the quality health care our families have come to expect by using the latest technology. Lakeridge Health is always in need of new equipment and depends entirely on community support to get it. Not many people know that the Provincial Government covers only operating costs of hospitals but does not fund the purchase of equipment. This is why donations from the community are so important. By investing in new technology used in patient care, your contributions go a long way in helping our families, neighbours and friends continue to get the best healthcare possible. High priority programs include: •Kidney and Diabetes Care •Surgery •Emergency and Critical Care •Clinical Support Services

SCOUTS CANADA

Scouting has an important role in the lives of today’s youth. Scouting promotes the importance of values such as integrity, honesty, responsibility, patriotism, courtesy, perseverance, cooperation, tolerance, teamwork, leadership and respect for community, nature and spirituality. In the 2008-2009 Scouting year, for the first time in a quarter of a century, membership in Scouting across Canada has increased. We are working hard so that more youth have the opportunity to benefit from a Scouting experience. As the organization grows, more and more youth in need of financial assistance are identified.
