The African Impact Foundation works to implement long-term, positive change in the lives of individuals, families and communities in Africa. Our commitment to 'Educate, Enrich and Empower' points to our main areas of focus: Education and Enrichment, Health and Nutrition, Empowering Families, The Girl Impact and Conservation. We also pride ourselves on our knowledge of sustainable and responsible development.

On Call Africa (OCA)'s goals are 1) to conduct on the spot medical care in rural areas by the use of mobile medical clinics, 2) to provide health education to local populations and 3) work towards a system of sustainable medical care in target areas.

Gruppo Aleimar is a non-profit voluntary organization that deals with children and families in need both in Italy and abroad, through the Distance Support, projects of development and awareness-raising and human development activities on the Italian territory. The main areas of our development projects are: 1. Education: taking charge of children in family (natural or adoptive), in foster homes and shelters, schooling and vocational training. 2. Health and hygiene awareness: support to clinics and / or hospitals, funding of surgical operations, seminars for young mothers. 3. Women promotion: start-up of agriculture and livestock, creation of production cooperatives, micro-credit financing. 4. Rural villages' development: water well, kindergarten, solar energy for light and water pumps. 5. Women' refuge and social housing for families in temporary need. The Aleimar Group is active today in 12 countries (Benin, Brazil, Colombia, D.R. Congo, Eritrea, India, Italy, Malawi, Palestine, Kenya, Lebanon, Zambia) with more than 50 projects and takes care directly of 600 children (what we call distance support) and, indirectly, of other 2,500 children that we follow within our projects. The Group comprises Aleimar for overseas project; Tuendelee for Italian projects and Prema, a cooperative for mentally disabled youth. The Group hires five people and relays on the voluntary service of 140 people. Its annual turnover is abt.1,2 million euro and overhead cost is less than 10%. Its balance sheet is checked and approved by internal auditors. We have been granted a seal of quality "Donare con fiducia" by the Istituto Italiano Donazione. In 30 years of activity the Group has helped more than 10.000 children/families, has built more than 100 foster homes, orphanages, schools and water wells.

Our mission is to aid and support children suffering from poverty, sickness, lack of education or who have experienced physical or moral violence, by offering them the opportunity and the hope of a new life. It is an independent, lay organisation and is also designated an ONLUS (Non-profit organisation of social value). It operates without discrimination of culture, ethnicity and religion and upholds the United Nations rights of the child. The Foundation works around the world and is closest to the weakest and most neglected children offering them food, medicine, health care, education and programmes for social reintegration. RIJ is an independent non-profit organization that funds projects for people displaced by conflict around the world. Our Programs Include: USAP The United Student Achievers Program (USAP) identifies high-achieving, low-income students with demonstrated leadership potential and an ethos of giving. We work with these students to apply for admission and scholarship to top colleges and universities in the United States and elsewhere. Student Athlete Cohort Education Matters' Student Athlete Cohort works with exceptional high school student athletes to apply for sports scholarships at colleges and universities in the United States. We value the balance between academics and athletics and seek the best match for each student. Zimbabwe Career Connect Zimbabwe Career Connect is an experiential learning program that matches Zimbabwean students studying in the United States with organizations and companies in Zimbabwe for a two month internship during their June-July holidays. Yale Young African Scholars Education Matters is the local partner for the Yale Young African Scholars Program in Zimbabwe. We mentor the Zimbabwean students involved in the program and work with local educators to offer workshops on the U.S. admissions process. The Zimbabwean YYAS program takes place in annually in August in Harare.

Friends of Humanity SA is a Geneva-based non-profit organization supporting initiatives and projects in five essential areas: - Human rights and dignity - Education and training - Healthcare and medicine (including alternative medicine) - Environmental protection and conservation - Microfinance

Our aim is to be the facilitators between out of school children with educational needs and sponsors willing to help them. With that purpose we have set up a simple framework to identify genuine cases of children outside the schooling system, we match them with suitable sponsors, and make sure funds are properly utilized.

Zambia has about 1 million orphans, this gives Zambia the highest per capita orphans rate in the world. One in every 4 household is a child headed home. About 65% of Zambians earn less than $1.25 per day. The Other Side Foundation is committed in nurturing at grassroots level, Orphans & Vulnerable children through an integrated Values Based Education (Education in Human Values), Nutrition and Health care. We further empower the widows, grandmothers and single mothers of our students through evening adult education, skills training & microloans/seed funding. The Other Side Foundation promotes gender equality and believes that every child needs to eat at least a meal/day, have access to basic healthcare and education.

Zahana in Madagascar is dedicated to participatory rural development, education, revitalization of traditional Malagasy medicine, reforestation, and sustainable agriculture. It is Zahana's philosophy that participatory development must be based on local needs and solutions proposed by local people. It means asking communities what they need and working with them collaboratively so they can achieve their goals. Each community's own needs are unique and require a tailor -made response

MAITS is an international disability charity whose mission is to improve the lives of some of the world's poorest people with developmental disabilities and the lives of their families, through better access to and quality of health and education services and support. We provide education, training and support for those working with and caring for persons with developmental disabilities such as cerebral palsy, autism and global learning disabilities to ensure they are able to achieve their full potential in a way that is sustainable and inclusive. We support people with disabilities in the following ways: The training of healthcare and education professionals, community workers, families and carers- to better understand their conditions and build their skills and knowledge to ensure persons with disabilities have better access to and improved quality of services. The development of training materials and resources on disability- the training materials are tested out and adapted to the local context, and when needed, translated into the local language, to ensure high quality care for those with disabilities. Linking organisations that need training with those who are able to provide it- through our website and through our database of 208 volunteer therapists and educators. In addition to facilitating face-to-face training, MAITS has an ongoing programme of resource development, designing tools that assist in the support and inclusion of individuals with particular needs, whether it be at home, school, in healthcare provisions or elsewhere in the community, in low-resource settings. We have a small team of specialists who create resources and we connect those looking for training with those who can provide it.
