KNE Sustainability Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting global sustainable thinking and action. Our goal is to accelerate the dissemination of sustainability knowledge through modern media and e-learning. We are funded through partnerships, grants, and collaborations with organizations committed to sustainability and regeneration. Our key initiatives include the Global Goals Compass, a tool that provides guidance on the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and ReGen.rocks, an interactive social learning platform designed to educate young people on sustainability, connect them in a social network and match them with regenerative projects. Additionally, we connect researchers in the field of sustainable development, create innovative e-learning programs, and support companies and organizations in effectively implementing sustainability and regeneration strategies. Foundation For Environmental Education

Established in 1981, the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) is one of the world's largest environmental education organisations, with over 100 member organisations in 81 countries. At the heart of the FEE are our five programmes. Coordinated by the Head Office in Copenhagen and implemented by our members around the world, our programmes aim to bring positive change on a global scale: The internationally recognized Eco-Schools programme engages young people in quality environmental education and meaningful action. Through a seven-step framework, pupils are empowered and motivated to drive change and improve environmental awareness in their school, local community and beyond. Close to 50,000 schools around the world are part of the Eco-Schools programme. Learning about Forests (LEAF) advocates for outdoor learning and hands-on experiences, allowing students to connect with nature and develop a deeper understanding of the natural world. While the LEAF programme started with a focus on tree-based ecosystems, today it includes a diversity of ecosystems to foster skills and knowledge by exposing learners to outdoor experiences. LEAF is implemented in 28 countries. Young Reporters for the Environment (YRE) is an award-winning programme that empowers young people to take an educated stand on environmental issues they feel strongly about and gives them a platform to articulate these issues through the media of writing, photography and video. Over 300,000 students engage in the YRE programme yearly. The iconic Blue Flag programme is one of the world's most recognized eco-tourism awards for beaches, marinas, and tourist boat operators. In order to qualify for the Blue Flag, a series of stringent environmental, educational, safety, and accessibility criteria must be met and maintained. Over 5,000 beaches, marinas and tourism boats are currently awarded. Green Key is a voluntary eco-certification programme. With more than 4,000 certified hotels and other establishments in 60 countries, Green Key is the leading standard for excellence in the field of environmental responsibility and sustainable operation within the tourism and hospitality industry. With 40 years of impactful experience in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), FEE's strategic plan - GAIA 20:30 - prioritises climate action across all five programmes to address the urgent threats of climate change, biodiversity loss and environmental pollution. FEE's Environmental Education Principles The member organisations of FEE have agreed upon these principles to guide our work towards excellence in EE/ESD: 1. Ensure that participants are engaged in the learning/teaching process. 2. Encourage participants to make reasonable decisions and actions on real life sustainability issues. 3. Encourage participants to work together actively and involve their communities in collaborative solutions. 4. Support participants to examine their assumptions, knowledge, and experiences, in order to develop critical thinking and to be open to change. 5. Encourage participants to be aware of cultural practices as an integral part of sustainability issues. 6. Encourage participants to share inspirational stories of their achievements, failures, and values, to learn from them and to support each other. 7. Continuously explore, test and share innovative approaches, methodologies, and techniques. 8. Ensuring continuous improvements through monitoring and evaluating are central focus of our programmes. Youth Initiative for Community Empowerment

YICE is a not for profit organization in Uganda with the main aim of implementing sustainable food systems for improved food security, nutrition, climate adaptation and economic resilience for displaced persons. We achieve this by building the capacity of displaced women and youth to sustainably achieve food security, improve their health, restore soils and water and become economically resilient. Our intervention brings together local community stakeholders, including agricultural organizations, the local government, and community members to participate in tailored practical trainings in regenerative farming and climate change awareness, followed up by ongoing direct support to establish traditional food gardens and fruit tree plantings to strengthen community's climate adaptation and resilience. We incorporate cross-cutting concepts such as market linkages, financial literacy, and gender awareness. The solution targets refugees, internally displaced persons and host communities across Uganda.

ZETU FOUNDATION

Zetu Foundation's Mission is to provide basic classroom equipment for children in remote and refugee primary schools across Africa to sit comfortably and write properly during classes by using SeatPacks: $15 school bags that turn into bamboo classroom chairs with writing surfaces (and menstrual toolkits for adolescent girls inside). This mission is inspired by 3 core reasons: 1. Over 95 million African school-children today attend school lessons without a place to sit comfortably and write properly directly discouraging their interest in school. This is due to the high cost of tree-timber furniture (average $100 per unit to sit 3 students). 2. Replacing tree-timber furniture with sustainable bamboo furniture using SeatPacks can greatly combat Climate Change at scale over the next 20 years. 3. Giving adolescent girls a menstrual toolkit in each bag increases school attendance all year by 20%, creating equal gender opportunities for girls in rural communities to define their futures. The SeatPack has been locally designed and proven to directly address the above 3 issues. SeatPacks are used daily by 2,200 children in 32 schools across Uganda alone (East Africa) and are designed, produced, and delivered by a local team with local leadership all living in Uganda. Our goal is to gift 1 million African school children by 2030 the daily experience of sitting comfortably and writing properly during classes so they can make their future dreams come true. Meeting this goal means: 1. Together, we improve learning and future opportunities for 1 million children in remote and refugee communities. 2. We combat climate change by conserving up to 1 million trees through replacement of bamboo as the key furniture material for classrooms. 3. We create equal opportunity for adolescent girls by reclaiming up to 20% of their school year attendance previously lost due to menstrual hygiene challenges that encouraged school dropping out. The SeatPack was designed by the Zetu Africa team primarily for the Zetu Foundation to bring it to 1 million school children by 2030. The SeatPack is 100% locally produced in Uganda with local artisans and bamboo farmers. Research and design development started late 2019 under the for profit named Zetu Africa and 17 iterations have been tested with child and teacher feedback. The Zetu Foundation has been established to fund SeatPack production and distribution for children from the poorest communities at no extra cost to the children or their families. The SeatPack is: 1. Personal and Mobile; making the classroom a natural extension of every child, with sitting and writing functions possible wherever they choose to learn (Indoor and outdoor). 2. Light weight; at 600 grams each unit is less than 10% the weight of a 6 year old girl with one main pocket to limit heavy load intentionally. 3. Non-chemically treated bamboo and canvas, replacing tree-timber as the sustainable alternative material for classroom furniture. 4. Gender equality conscious with a menstrual toolkit for female adolescent students to stay in school all year round. 5. Durable with a 5 year working guarantee. Canvas and bamboo lends all-weather material strength, with no zippers or buttons for easy repair by sewing if torn. 6. Low cost at $15 per unit versus the $100 tree-timber furniture unit traditionally used by well to do schools. Amongst many testimonials, some rural and refugee school comments to-date have included; Teacher feedback: "Outdoor classes have been easier to carry out due to the mobile nature of each SeatPack." "Students increased attention during classes because of upright sitting." "Consistent attendance of girls even in their period because of menstrual purse in the SeatPack." Together, we are keen to gift 1 million African school children in 20,000 classrooms by 2030 the daily experience of sitting comfortably and writing properly during classes with 1 million SeatPacks so they can make their future dreams come true.

AWI Foundation

Advancing Women in Investing (AWI) is a collaborative of more than 100 first-time and emerging female capital movers investing in emerging and frontier markets. Our long-term goal is to create a movement of change to democratize access to funding and opportunity for female investment vehicles managers (IVMs). Female investment professionals represent only 8% of all senior positions in venture capital and private equity firms in Africa and when then they strike out on their own, they struggle to raise capital. AWI was initially founded as a discussion group over WhatsApp to provide support and networking opportunities for members on the journey to start and raise capital for investment vehicles focused on sub-Saharan Africa. The organization has expanded its geography to include emerging markets in Africa, Asia and the Middle East and now helps to unlock channels to capital, skill building, tools and other resources that are currently very limited in the market. We accelerate the development and growth of these talented women to ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the investing ecosystem.
