Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island is a registered charity whose purpose is to raise funds to support the health and well being of children and youth in need on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. Our roots go back to 1922, and we were previously known as the Queen Alexandra Foundation for Children. Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and audited annually, funds are carefully allocated to facilities, services, programs, special projects and urgently needed medical equipment that help ensure children and youth develop to their full potential. Children mean the world to us.

The Langley Hospice Society is committed to providing emotional, practical and spiritual support for people who are living with a terminal illness, their family and friends throughout the last stage of illness, at the time of death and bereavement.

The Women’s Centre of Calgary is a unique, street-front organization that provides a variety of services and opportunities to the women of Calgary. Our mission is to be every woman’s place for support,connections and community. Our vision is women supporting communities, communities supporting women. Operating since 1981, we serve . . . the working poor, the unemployed and the homeless. Thousands come to us each year for a helping hand. It is only through the generosity of the community that we are able to give that helping hand. Our programs include . . . THE HAVEN - emergency shelter for youth ages 16-21 . . . RENT/UTILITY - assistance for people with an eviction notice or utility shut-off notice to help remain in their housing . . . EMERGENCY SHELTER - for adults and families. Temporary shelter and assistance in locating permanent housing . . . GENESIS - provides clothing and small household items at no cost . . . FOOD BANK - provides grocery store style selection with dry goods, bakery items, refrigerator and freezer sections. Clients can access every 21 days . . . SOUP KITCHEN - serves a hot meal 365 days of the year in a social setting.

As a registered charity, the Children’s Aid Foundation raises funds for programs of the Children’s Aid Society and other child welfare organizations that support children in three critical areas: Education programs that give children a chance to pursue their dreams and build successful lives for themselves, Enrichment programs that provide recreational and cultural opportunities so that disadvantaged children can experience healthy development, and Prevention programs that provide support for families before abuse and neglect begin.

Providing Hope to Children One Lunch at a Time! Why Community Crew? The children we serve are going to grow up to do great things, and it’s our job to make sure that they know this. They shouldn’t be worried about where their next meal is coming from. At Community Crew, we are dedicated to providing nutritious lunches to kids who need them most. But it doesn’t stop there. Through community engagement we are helping to inspire our future leaders to understand the importance of giving back and working together. From encouraging notes in lunches to friendly smiles and high-fives at school, everything we do is aimed to help children gain the confidence they need to succeed.

The St. Joseph's Hospice of Sarnia Lambton is a non-profit organization ready to extend a supporting hand and provide compassionate care to enhance quality and dignity of life for those diagnosed with a terminal illness and their families. Service is extended from time of diagnosis through bereavement. Established programs include the "Walking Companions" Bereavement Support Groups, complementary therapies (massage, hair care, manicure, pedicure, Reiki, therapeutic touch), "Food for Thought" Luncheons, resource library and the "Caring Hearts" Children's Grief and Bereavement program. A residential hospice will also be operational in 2008. Caring for the mind, body and spirit is essential to improving the quality of life. People of all cultures, ages and belief systems have unique needs to which the Hospice's specially trained staff will respond with compassion and respect. All services are available free of charge to registered clients.

Guelph Food Bank was established by Spiritwind Christian Centre in 1989. Food Bank clients vary in age, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds, but they have one thing in common they are all faced with financial hardship. Guelph Food Bank offers help to its clients through: Food Programs - Hamper Program, Perishable Excess Program, Community and Disaster Relief Program Help With Skills - Budget and Debt Counceling, Life Skills Help, Support Refferals and Advocacy Job And Placement Programs - Individual Refferals, Direction for Retraining, Peer Work Programs,Community Service Programs Other Supports and Programs - Clothing Exchange, Adopt-A-Family Christmas Program, Special Events, Garage Sale & Silent Auctions, Community Awareness, Zehrs Tape Collection, Think-Food Inkjet & Cell Phone Recycling Program, Local Sports Subsidy Screening, Family Councelling

West Broadway Development Corporation operates a number of programs, however our main fundraising drive is for the Good Food Club (GFC). The GFC makes healthy, nutricious, affordable food available in West Broadway and inner-city Winnipeg. Help us create food security, so that all people, at all times, have access to safe, nutricious food to meet dietary needs for an active and healthy live. Our program is guided by the membership, primarily people living below the poverty line. Members can volunteer for "sweat equity points" and exchange these for healthy food.
