CASEY HOUSE FOUNDATION

Casey House is a specialty hospital with community programming including home care and outreach programs. Founded in 1988, we were the first freestanding HIV/AIDS hospice in Canada. We rely on donor funding to provide our community programs, which include the Home Hospice Program, nursing, counselling, complementary therapies including massage, recreation therapy, child care for HIV-positive parents and the Resident Care and Comfort Fund.

CENTRAL ALBERTA WOMEN'S EMERGENCY SHELTER

CAWES helps thousands of women and children each year who are caught in the destructive cycle of domestic violence, adult female sexual assualt victims, and clients who require emergency accomodation . The shelter provides short term accomodation for up to 36 women and/or children at a time. In addition several programs provide the opportunity for clients to receive councelling and assistance during and after their stay. CAWES believes that every individual has a right to a life free from abuse; That providing a broad range of culturally sensative services and shelter will assist families to overcome the impact of family violence; Ending family violence requires societal change through education and awarenes; In the empowerment of women and children to regain control of their lives. The Neighbourhood Group

Central Neighbourhood House (CNH) is a non-profit community based United Way agency located in central east Toronto. CNH provides programming and services to a broad range of clients from the Regent Park, St. Jamestown and Moss Park areas of Toronto. Poverty, language and education barriers that are often compounded by violence, drugs and alcohol abuse disadvantage our clients and community members. Founded in 1911, CNH has been an integral part of the community for close to 100 years!! CNH offers anti-violence programs for young men and women, friendly visits to seniors, children's camps, recreation programs, tutoring. Our Street Survivors program scours the city streets, parks, bridges, and underpasses looking for children, families, teens and adults living on the streets -- we offer them support services to help them look for housing, counselling and so much more.
