Port Perry Hospital Foundation is a registered charity founded in 1979. We raise funds through a variety of means, such as special events, donor mailings, planned and estate giving, memorial and in honour donations, and more. We are presently working on a major initiative to bring a CT Scanner to our hospital. Our fundraising efforts are built on a strong, patient focused, excellent care close to home philosophy that is shared by medical staff, employees and volunteers.

Our Harm Reduction Outreach Team provides counselling, needle distribution/exchange, and support groups. We serve people who are street-involved or in conflict with the law,seeking support concerning their drug use in a respectful, non-judgemental and compassionate way that respects the competency of clients to make decisions about their care. The Clear Directions section 19 class provides an environment where students can develop their basic skills and to recognize their areas of strength. The program serves youth 14 to 18 who are experiencing both mental health and substance use problems. Satellite Opiate Addiction Treatment If you are looking to change your relationship with heroin or other opiates, the Satellite may be a place that can help you. The Satellite is a comprehensive program using both medical and non-medical interventions.
Diakonos Retreat Society is a non-profit charitable organization that was founded in 1997 to serve and strengthen Peace Officer and Emergency Services and their families. We do this proactively through our programs and events as well as reactively through our Diakonos houses where we provide shelter in a time of crisis.

The Center is a world leader in its field. The Pacific Parkinson's Research Institute exists for the sole purpose of raising funds for research into Parkinson's Disease. Wings of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation is a Calgary-based charity that provides financial assistance to Breast Cancer patients undergoing treatment at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre. The majority of assistance is used to pay for basic needs including groceries, medication, utilities, rent and other fundamental living expenses. Additionally, the Foundation provides support to related programs which assist patients in various psychosocial elements of their healing. The charity is entirely volunteer run and has minimal overhead expenses.
We have several program streams that are designed to best meet the abilities, needs, and goals of individual participants. These program streams include: therapeutic riding (the physical therapy end of the spectrum), recreational riding (therapeutic riding with a focus on recreation and outdoor activity), rider achievement levels (progressive skill development opportunity within the therapeutic context), introduction to competition (aspects of para-equestrian sport are introduced and developed), therapeutic horsemanship (therapy and skill-building through horsemanship “from the ground”), and stable management vocational development (employment training through stable management and equine interactions for persons with disabilities). Our program positively impacts the lives of countless individuals of all abilities. Our program serves as a hub of community action where members of our community give back through participation, volunteerism, and a culture of inclusion.

The National ME/FM Action Network addresses issues that affect patients with these illnesses. For example: We spearheaded the drive for clinical definitions and diagnostic and treatment guidelines for ME/CFS and FMS, which were published in peer-reviewed medical journals. Overviews of these Canadian Consensus Documents have be sent to a few thousand doctors across Canada. Both the Consensus Documents and Overviews can be viewed on our website. We have intervened in a number of court case, which affect the patient community as a whole. Revenue Canada implimented our suggestions for revising the Disability Tax Credit form and procedure. We have developed a variety of educational resources for patients. And much more! There is still much more to be done. Please help us help others!
