Providing Hope to Children One Lunch at a Time! Why Community Crew? The children we serve are going to grow up to do great things, and it’s our job to make sure that they know this. They shouldn’t be worried about where their next meal is coming from. At Community Crew, we are dedicated to providing nutritious lunches to kids who need them most. But it doesn’t stop there. Through community engagement we are helping to inspire our future leaders to understand the importance of giving back and working together. From encouraging notes in lunches to friendly smiles and high-fives at school, everything we do is aimed to help children gain the confidence they need to succeed.

The St. Joseph's Hospice of Sarnia Lambton is a non-profit organization ready to extend a supporting hand and provide compassionate care to enhance quality and dignity of life for those diagnosed with a terminal illness and their families. Service is extended from time of diagnosis through bereavement. Established programs include the "Walking Companions" Bereavement Support Groups, complementary therapies (massage, hair care, manicure, pedicure, Reiki, therapeutic touch), "Food for Thought" Luncheons, resource library and the "Caring Hearts" Children's Grief and Bereavement program. A residential hospice will also be operational in 2008. Caring for the mind, body and spirit is essential to improving the quality of life. People of all cultures, ages and belief systems have unique needs to which the Hospice's specially trained staff will respond with compassion and respect. All services are available free of charge to registered clients.

Since 2008, we have worked to create a more inclusive and accepting community for Autistic individuals and their families. Our vision is for every individual on the autism spectrum to be understood, accepted and supported in all community spaces. Our mission is to provide programs for individuals on the autism spectrum and their families, while promoting acceptance and inclusion through community engagement and training initiatives across BC and beyond.

We provide safe, affordable, decent home ownership to deserving families in Barrie and South Simcoe. Our Restore recycles usable building products and materials diverting more than 40 tons of waste each year. Low-income families complete 500 hours of sweat equity toward their home and pay a no interest mortgage. They become tax-payers and engaged community citizens. Our ReStores and building projects engage more than 400 volunteers every year including students, Ontario Works participants, volunteers through the justice system and other community minded individuals. Thanks to Restore revenues, 100% of donations go directly to helping families in need get a hand up not a hand out.

For over forty years, The King’s Daughters Dinner Wagon, a not-for-profit agency now known as Meals on Wheels, has been dedicated to providing nutritious meals, daily companionship and comfort with a smile.

The Hospital for Sick Children Foundation, affectionately known as SickKids Foundation, is the largest non-governmental granting agency in child health in Canada. Established in 1972, SickKids Foundation has granted over $300 million to The Hospital for Sick Children and over $60 million to researchers across the country. Through its National Grants Program, SickKids Foundation is the only granting program with a national, multi-year initiative to study two understudied but important areas of child health: the role of complementary and alternative health care and child health, and to study home care and children and youth. We have invested our community’s contributions in outstanding patient care, research and education. We believe there is no one else in Canada as dedicated as we are to eliminating the gap between what is happening in child health research, education and training, and what should be happening.

Vision: To foster a culture of personal, body awareness among the young men in our society so that they will avoid the undue pain, suffering and harsh treatments associated with testicular cancer. Crohn's and Colitis Canada is a national not-for-profit voluntary medical research Foundation. Its mission is to find the cure for inflammatory bowel disease. To achieve its mission, the Foundation is committed to raising increasing funds for medical research. November is Diabetes Awareness Month. Help us spread our message of diabetes management and prevention. The Canadian Diabetes Association works in communities across the country to promote the health of Canadians and eliminate diabetes through our strong nationwide network of volunteers, employees, healthcare professionals, researchers, partners and supporters. In the struggle against this global epidemic, our expertise is recognized around the world.

In the past year, The Food Bank of Waterloo Region, assisted approximately 28,000 neighbours in Waterloo Region. Yearly, The Food Bank distributes over 3 million pounds of food to community individuals who are facing challenging circumstances. Food is distributed through a partnership of 76 member agencies and community programs which provide emergency food hampers and meals. London Health Sciences Foundation (LHSF) is a charity accredited by Imagine Canada and the Better Business Bureau, dedicated to strengthening LHSC’s ability to provide the highest-quality health care to patients in London and throughout Southwestern Ontario. Donations to LHSF fund innovative equipment, research, education and enhanced patient care at LHSC, a teaching hospital and leader in medical research offering the broadest range of specialized clinical services in Ontario.

Wellspring is open to all cancer patients, their families and care givers, all of whom are known as members. Wellspring is welcoming and comfortable in nature, external to hospitals or treatment centres, and is devoid of any “institutional” feeling. Volunteers and group leaders providing programs at Wellspring deliver only cancer support services and not medical treatment or medical therapies, nor services for patients with diseases other than cancer. Wellspring receives no government funding and offers all programs and services at no charge to our members and without referral.
