Hospice Calgary embraces children, teens and adults who are coping with life-threatening illness, sudden or expected death. At Sage Centre and Rosedale Hospice - our two centres of care - our specialists provide: 1) individual counselling 2) group support 3) workshops 4) 24-hour end-of-life care. Hospice Care Ottawa, an amalgamation of Friends of Hospice Ottawa and the Hospice at May Court, is a community based charitable organization. We offer services for clients and their loved ones to experience palliative and end-of-life care in a supportive and peaceful setting, surrounded by caring that reflects as closely as possible a comfortable home environment.

The AIDS Network is a registered charitable organization that offers services and education to people living in the communities of Hamilton, Halton, Haldimand, Norfolk and Brant. Established in 1986, we are the only organization in the region that offers services and support to men, women, children and families who have been affected by HIV/AIDS.

With donor support we promote health by funding the research of qualified donees into the cause, prevention, and treatment of brain health and neurodegenerative disorders. Donor interest matched to research projects is the heart of our charity. Keeping costs to a minimum enables our ability to direct more dollars to research.

Providing Hope to Children One Lunch at a Time! Why Community Crew? The children we serve are going to grow up to do great things, and it’s our job to make sure that they know this. They shouldn’t be worried about where their next meal is coming from. At Community Crew, we are dedicated to providing nutritious lunches to kids who need them most. But it doesn’t stop there. Through community engagement we are helping to inspire our future leaders to understand the importance of giving back and working together. From encouraging notes in lunches to friendly smiles and high-fives at school, everything we do is aimed to help children gain the confidence they need to succeed.

Since 1954, Muscular Dystrophy Canada has been committed to improving the quality of life for the tens of thousands of Canadians with neuromuscular disorders and funding leading research for the discovery of therapies and cures for neuromuscular disorders. We strive to ensure that people with neuromuscular disorders lead full and engaged lives by providing services that increase mobility and encourage independence. We also aim to increase the awareness of neuromuscular disorders and their implications amongst Canadians to motivate changes in social policy at a national level.

The Kidney Foundation of Canada is the national volutneer organization committed to reducing the burden of kidney disease through: funding and stimulating innovative research; providing education and support; promoting access to quality healthcare; and increasing public awareness and commitment to advancing kidney health and organ donation.

Established in 1977 the ALS Society of Canada is a national voluntary health organization with partner units in every province. Between 1,500 and 2000 people live with ALS and many more are affected by this devastating neuromuscular disease.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada was established in 1955 to fund Canadian researchers who focus on leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and Hodgkin's disease. Over the years we have funded hundreds of prominent researchers who have made significant progress in developing better, less invasive treatments in their quest to find permanent cures. Research has dramatically increased the survival rates of people stricken with blood-related cancers. Yet leukemia remains the number one disease-killer of children under 19 and alarmingly the incidence of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in adults has doubled since 1973. Our mission to find better treatments and ultimately cures, continues.

Victoria Hospice is a registered charity that has, since 1980, provided end-of-life care focused on palliative treatment. Our nurses, counsellors, spiritual caregivers, physicians and trained volunteers provide comfort for the patient and support for the family, rather than a cure for progressive and life-limiting illness. Care is offered in patients’ homes, within our 17-bed in-patient unit, and as specific medical consultation to patients in other health care facilities. Over 300 trained volunteers provide companionship and support. Victoria Hospice offers bereavement support to families for up to one year following a death. Roughly 50% of Victoria Hospice's annual operating costs are not covered by our health care system, and must be funded through community donations to our Victoria Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation.

The Foundation was incorporated in 1978 as a non-profit organization, set up to receive and administer donations from the public. The accumulated funds are for the sole benefit of the Wingham and District Hospital. The Foundation is operated by a volunteer Board of Directors independent of the Hospital. Each year the Foundation directs money to supplement the financial needs of the hospital to ensure the highest standard of health care.

Lupus is a life altering and potentially life-threatening auto-immune disease for which there is no cure. In an autoimmune disease, the body’s immune system (which normally protects and defends the body against disease and illness) becomes overactive, often attacking healthy tissues of the body. It can affect any organ or system. The resultant inflammation can be destructive as well as debilitating. In Ontario, we have increased the number of support centres and assisted volunteers who have helped many people with lupus share information and education to better manage their disease. Lupus Ontario knows that there are not enough specialized physicians to give adequate care to people living with lupus. To address this, we financially support two fellowships that educate in the optimum treatment of people living with lupus.
