Mercy Ships is the world's leading non-governmental ship-based medical organization. Our goal is to transform the lives of the world's forgotten poor. One by one. Our hospital ships and land-based teams provide primary medical care, relief aid and community support to the most impoverished people on earth, free of charge. The Africa Mercy, the world’s largest charity hospital ship, is crewed by 450 volunteers from around the world, delivering medical excellence and developmental programs with integrity and compassion.

All of the funds raised by the Foundation, through donations and events, remain in this community to be used to fulfill the Foundation's goals of enhancing the care and treatment of cancer patients in Windsor & Essex County, and supporting locally based cancer research.

The Waterloo Regional Down Syndrome Society is a charitable, non-profit organization created in 1988 by parents of children with Down syndrome. We are entirely run by volunteers, therefore every dollar raised today will go towards helping the programs and services of the WRDSS. We are dedicated to: * Providing a social and information network for parents/families * Advocating for persons with Down syndrome to lead healthy and active lives in our community * And assisting the inclusion of people with Down syndrome into the community Our services and activities include: * Information and education * Advocacy * Public awareness * Events and Educational Conferences * Parent support * Bi-Monthly newsletter

Our mission is to continuously pioneer cutting-edge breast cancer education, support and research that speak fearlessly to the unique needs of young (or youngish) women. We do this by: •Putting young women’s issues on the breast cancer agenda in a bold, upbeat way •Motivating young women to focus on breast health through risk reduction and early detection •Finding and forging new platforms to reach young people and creating high-impact, fear-free messaging •Filling gaps in support for young women with breast cancer •Funding timely research programs that foster young talent and reflect the unique issues associated with breast cancer in young women •Inspiring new generations of breast cancer supporters through dynamic special events and fundraising initiatives •Partnering with like-minded organizations to bring more awareness and resources to the cause

Alzheimer Groupe (AGI) Inc. is a resource agency and charitable organization. We are the primary source of current information, education, support, research, and advocacy, for individuals, families and the community who are living with Alzheimer's Disease (AD) and the Related Disorders (RD).

OneFoundation for Niagara Health System is a non-profit organization that raises funds in support of the Niagara Health System hospital sites across the region. OneFoundation was formed in 2014 after the following Foundations joined together to better serve the needs of our community: Douglas Memorial Hospital Foundation; Greater Niagara General Hospital Foundation; Niagara Health System Foundat...ion; Port Colborne Hospital Foundation; St. Catharines General Hospital Foundation; and the Welland Hospital Foundation. Under this unified banner, we will continue working to make Niagara’s hospital services the best they can be. As one cohesive team with one voice, we will build on our current strengths and find even more creative ways to channel our efforts for the greater good of local healthcare.

Hospice Niagara programs and services (except pharmaceuticals) are free to residents of Niagara, thanks to the goodwill and charitable donations of members of the community. We offer a variety of programs and services to Niagara residents including: Visiting Volunteer Services where trained volunteers provide non-medical support and comfort to individuals living with a life-limiting illness right in their own homes, Day Hospice, which is a weekly opportunity for these individuals to enjoy a day of relaxation and caring companionship in a comfortable setting and Bereavement Support programs for children, adolescents and adults. In addition, the Stabler Centre in St. Catharines provides quality palliative care in a home-like setting. There are 10 bedrooms in the residence for those in the last weeks of their lives who are unable to remain in their homes.

Since 2003 we have funded over 700 initiatives, partnering with over 300 community-based, grassroots organizations in 15 countries. These grassroots groups are a lifeline for their communities: they provide education and counselling about HIV prevention, care and treatment; distribute food, medication and other necessities; reach into the homes of the sick and vulnerable through holistic home-based care; help children orphaned by AIDS and other vulnerable children gain access to education and cope with their grief; and support grandmothers, who are overwhelmingly the caregivers for their orphaned grandchildren. We exist to meaningfully collaborate on this important work, and to support the processes by which grassroots groups share ideas, strategize for change, and build unified networks across the African continent. Hospice Renfrew provides end-of-life care to people who are experiencing life-threatening or terminal illness. This small, comfortable, home-like palliative care residence serves individuals and families throughout Renfrew County and the surrounding area. Hospice Renfrew provides 24-hour nursing care, with physician support, at no cost to the patient in an inclusive setting where family and friends can be an integral part of the care.

The Alzheimer Society Niagara Foundation was launched in June of 2006 and is now the fundraising arm that funds the programs and services of the Alzheimer Society. It will ensure the future viability of specialized dementia care services, especially with the ever-changing climate of health care and the competition for resources. It offers several satisfying and effective philanthropic options that will make the most of donated dollars as well as offer taxation benefits to the donor. Funds can be established in a loved one’s or family name that will grow in perpetuity. You can make a difference.

Programs and services offered at Matthews House Community Hospice include: Playing with Colours,Yoga Classes, Garden Club,Caregiver Group, One-on-One Support, Library, Complimentary Therapies and In-Home Non-medical Support.
