When there is no cure, there is still support, care and compassion.....there is hospice. This is one of Philip Aziz Centre's key messages as a Hospice organization to make sure that no one (patient or their caregivers) should have to journey alone with a serious illness. This is why we advocate for, and efficiently deliver, quality, timely hospice care that is a necessary part of our health care system.Expanding upon our 17 years of hospice care, Emily's House , a 10-bed, family centred children's hospice, the first in the GTA, will open in January 2013.This hospice will service children and their families across Ontario who require a third care alternative to a hospital bed or 24/7 home care, which is not always available or can just be too much for the families to deal with. Whether a life is measured in days,weeks, months or even years, children living with a life-limiting diagnosis deserve the oportunity to learn, play, develop and grow....to just be kids.

The Hamilton and Halton Alzheimer Foundation fundraises on behalf of the Alzheimer Society of Hamilton and Halton, and administers all funds raised. This Foundation and The Alzheimer Society of Hamilton and Halton are under the direction of a common volunteer Board of Directors. The Board works with the Society's staff and its community partners to achieve its fundraising objectives. The Eldercare Foundation directly supports Aberdeen, Mt. Tolmie, Glengarry, Priory, Heritage Woods and Oak Bay Lodge. There are over 700 residents who call one of these care facilities 'home'. The Foundation also supports community programs for seniors such as Adult Day Programs, Community Bathing Programs, the Piercy Respite Hotel and the Yakimovich Wellness Centre which provides free education to seniors and their families to help them navigate the journey of aging. Through our Education Endowment Program, we provide funding to help professional caregivers upgrade their skills and knowledge to better care for our valued elders. Through our Embrace Aging initiative, we are reaching further into the community to promote and inspire positive aging and raise awareness about the many resources, educational opportunities and activities available to seniors and their family caregivers to help them Be Well; Be Secure; Be Connected and Be Enriched ~ our four pillars of positive aging.

Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island is a registered charity whose purpose is to raise funds to support the health and well being of children and youth in need on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. Our roots go back to 1922, and we were previously known as the Queen Alexandra Foundation for Children. Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and audited annually, funds are carefully allocated to facilities, services, programs, special projects and urgently needed medical equipment that help ensure children and youth develop to their full potential. Children mean the world to us.

Lung Cancer Canada (LCC) is the only charity whose sole mission is to raise awareness, provide patient focused information and offer peer support to everyone touched by lung cancer. Founded in 2002 by caregivers and healthcare professionals who were concerned about the lack of information, treatment options and support, LCC has grown to be the nationally recognized source for reliable, non judgemental services and lung cancer information. Through the first Canadian patient focused Lung Cancer Resource Centre and Library, LCC offers a variety of resources for information and peer support free of charge to anyone in Canada. Governed by a volunteer Board of 12 Directors and supported by a Medical Advisory Committee, LCC is a volunteer driven registered charity. All Committees and Task Forces are made up of LCC volunteers. Our volunteers are medical professionals, caregivers, survivors and others touched by lung cancer.

The Miramichi Lodge Foundation is made up of very hard working volunteers, committed to enhancing the loives of the residents of Miramichi Lodge. They carry out their mandate through a variety of fund-raising events, In Memorium donations, bequests and planned giving. The Foundation is always looking for interested volunteers to assist in our efforts. Please contact us if you might be one of them.

The West Island Palliative Care Residence is the largest freestanding community based palliative care residence in Canada and an active promoter of the needs of the dying and their loved ones. With its 23 bed facility, the Residence has cared for more than 2,300 patients since its opening in 2002 as well as over 10,000 of their loved ones. The patients receive 24 hour comfort care, spiritual and psychological support, advanced end of life services including superior medical equipment, a highly specialized medical team and bereavement services for all surviving loved ones, all this is free of charge.

The Bonnechere Manor Foundation is a registered charity made up of a group of volunteers dedicated to raising funds to enrich the quality of life for all residents and clients at the Bonnechere Manor. Whether it is an Auditorium, state-of-the-art equipment, or programs to enrich the residents' quality of life, the Foundation is dedicated to making Bonnechere Manor truly a home-away-from-home. The Foundation is also a vehicle to raise funds that support capital projects and other programs that are not funded through existing Ministry of Health and Long Term Care mechanisms.

Our Goal: Indwell's goal is to restore hope and dignity to people. We attempt to overcome the stigma through educating people to understand many common and widespread misconceptions surrounding homelessnes. Our Motivation: Staff of Indwell share a Christian motivation to care for our residents, many of whom have experienced social marginalization, family disruption, and a loss of self esteem and dignity. We follow Christ's instruction to love our neighbors as ourselves. We therefore seek to enable each resident to reach their personal recovery goals.

Our humanitarian and development organization offers basic health care to isolated African villages, participates in the fight against HIV/AIDS and other diseases, and contributes to the training of human resources both in Canada and in the host countries of Benin, Tanzania and Uganda.
