PHILIP AZIZ CENTRE FOR HOSPICE CARE / Emily's House

When there is no cure, there is still support, care and compassion.....there is hospice. This is one of Philip Aziz Centre's key messages as a Hospice organization to make sure that no one (patient or their caregivers) should have to journey alone with a serious illness. This is why we advocate for, and efficiently deliver, quality, timely hospice care that is a necessary part of our health care system.Expanding upon our 17 years of hospice care, Emily's House , a 10-bed, family centred children's hospice, the first in the GTA, will open in January 2013.This hospice will service children and their families across Ontario who require a third care alternative to a hospital bed or 24/7 home care, which is not always available or can just be too much for the families to deal with. Whether a life is measured in days, weeks, months or even years, children living with a life-limiting diagnosis deserve the oportunity to learn, play, develop and grow....to just be kids.
