The Canadian Society of Intestinal Research (CSIR) is a registered non-profit organization. Established on October 18, 1976, CSIR is dedicated to increasing public awareness, providing patient educational materials, and funding medical research regarding a broad range of gastrointestinal diseases and disorders. The Lifesaving Society is a full-service provider of programs, products and services designed to prevent drowning. We are a national volunteer organization and registered charity composed of tens of thousands of individual members, and over 4,000 affiliated swimming pools, waterfronts, schools and clubs. The Lifesaving Society is a leader and partner in the delivery of water safety education throughout Canada and around the world. We represent Canada in the Commonwealth Royal Life Saving Society and the International Life Saving Federation. The World Health Organization recognizes ILS as the world authority in the global effort to prevent drowning. The Lifesaving Society takes lead responsibility for drowning prevention in Canada.

Women’s House Serving Bruce and Grey is a local non-profit organization that provides safe shelter and services to women 16 years of age and older, and their children, who have or are experiencing abuse, sexual violence and homelessness. Our Sexual Assault Services office is in Owen Sound, ON and the physical shelter and business office is in Kincardine, ON. Our Second Stage Housing Units are in Port Elgin, ON, Wiarton, ON and Kincardine, ON. All areas mentioned provide a safe environment for women and children for counselling, housing, group programs and transitional education.
Thunder Bay Counselling Centre (formerly Family Services Thunder Bay) has provided community counselling solutions to individuals, couples, and families for over 40 years. We offer both personal and workplace support services to help people make positive changes in their lives. Counselling offers an opportunity to talk in confidence. It can help people reach a better understanding of life situations and enable them to find a way forward. It is our goal to help people find "Solutions that Change Lives" through programs and services that address issues such as abuse, addictions, anger, budgeting and debt management, depression and anxiety, family violence, grief, relationshyips, stress and trauma.
The Michener Institute is Canada's leading post-secondary educational institution for applied health sciences. TIRF is a national, independent charitable road safety institute. Since its inception in 1964, TIRF has become internationally recognized for its accomplishments in identifying the causes of road crashes and developing programs and policies to address them effectively. Our work in reducing the risks for young drivers through such measures as graduated licensing, and our work on reducing the problems of drinking and driving through such measures as ignition interlocks and graduated penalties has won international acclaim. Other areas where TIRF’s work is reducing deaths and injuries include driver improvement programs, motorcycle safety, driver education and training, elderly road users and bicycle safety.
United Way of Sault Ste Marie & district (UWSSM) - through community engagement identified four priority issues; health, employment, poverty, and youth concerns. Working with the non profit and volunteer sector, UWSSM facilitates solutions to these issues, resulting in community impact. UWSSM continues to fund these community priorities through three focus areas: Healthy people, strong communities; From poverty to possibility; and All that kids can be. These three focus areas affect many individuals around us and their need for support continues to grow. Everyday people that are experiencing tough times benefit the most from our services and we have all had tough times at one time or another, we may have just been more fortunate in our lives not to need these services.
