The Innis Point Bird Observatory (IPBO) is a non-profit organization of over 60 volunteers. Our aims are to contribute to regional and national bird monitoring programs, and to raise awareness of birds in our local community. IPBO is a charitable organization, reliant on volunteers to run all its bird banding programs and for fundraising.

Founded as a not-for-profit, non-government organization in 1957, we have a well-established reputation as a leader in safety education. We continually check our environment to identify gaps in safety promotion and seek to meet the need, either through individual effort or with the many health and safety-related organizations throughout Ottawa and Eastern Ontario that we cooperate with. OMS Montessori creates multi-age learning communities that support each student as a life-long learner. Assessing progress through daily observation and guiding each student through dynamic activity, OMS Montessori enables each student to develop fully as a confident, self-directed, responsible citizen of the world. Established in 1966, OMS Montessori is a non-profit, charitable corporation accredited by the Canadian Council of Montessori Administrators (one of only three schools in Ottawa). We serve around 300 students from 18 months to grade 12, with Francophone and English programs. We were the first Montessori school in Ottawa and we continue to be an educational leader by creating and implementing education beyond the ordinary. The Peace and Environment Resource Centre (PERC) provides valued resources, support and skills in our community. We are grassroots, volunteer-based, and dedicated to positive change. Our achievements over our 30 year history include: producing the Peace and Environment News (newspaper); organizing hundreds of community and school workshops, a resource library of thousands of books, magazines and videos; hosting school and children’s programs, and countless community events. This and much more has been made possible thanks to the collective effort and resourcefulness of over our dedicated volunteers. Current programs include the PEN, communications, and workshops.

Founded as a registered charity in 1982 by Barbara Clark, c.M., the members are committed to excellence in vocal and choral performance. Currently lead by Jamie Loback - Music Director, the ensemble (50+) is open to individuals ages 15 through 30. Chosen by audition, the members must demonstrate a commitment to their art and the overall goals of the organization. Through experiences with artists such as the members of the National Arts Centre Orchestra (NACO), the choristers are prepared for a possible future within the diverse arts communities. This organization believes that its longevity and current vitality is the demonstration of commitment to its goals, not only by its current members but also those who have gone before. Alumni, supporters, friends and family have coloured and shaped this organization over the years. We believe that everyones’ continued contributions are key to the organizations success. OWL became a registered non-profit society in January 1985. We operate 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, on an “on-call” basis. We are open every Saturday and Sunday between 10 am and 3 pm during the winter months. Over the summer, volunteers have the chance to apply for a grant working at OWL. We are open for tours 7 days a week during the summer months. OWL offers education classes, both on– and off-site. We have over 25 ‘Front Education’ residents who stay on-site and help educate any tours our classes that visit OWL. We also have over 10 ’Side Education’ residents who visit schools, community centers, and libraries throughout the year, who also help educate the public. We are always looking for new volunteers to help with fundraising events. We are proud of our record in the field of raptor rehabilitation, and we are anxious to continue our work and to meet the ever-increasing demands on both our facilities and our dedicated volunteers.

Founded in 1987, Pacific Salmon Foundation is an independent, politically neutral organization dedicated to rebuilding healthy sustainable and naturally divers Pacific salmon stocks. We believe that action is more important than words; that collaboration and partnerships are more effective than finger pointing and blame.

Parkdale Project Read is a non-profit, community literacy program that operates an adult learning centre in the Parkdale community.

ARTISTIC POLICY & COMMUNITY ROLE: The most important objective of the PSO is the continued improvement of the orchestra’s musical quality as well as audience education and development. Michael Newnham, Music Director, and the Program Committee jointly propose the coming season’s program, taking into account budget, the orchestra’s abilities, audience preferences, and the availability of professional soloists. The PSO features excellent soloists of national stature, as well as promoting exceptional members of the orchestra. CELBRATING 45 YEARS! The Peterborough Symphony Orchestra (PSO) was founded in 1967, and has been built on the successive experience of seven music directors prior to Mr. Newnham. In the 2000~2001 season, the PSO underwent an extensive search for a new music director, auditioning four guest conductors throughout the season. Michael Newnham was the successful candidate and has proven to be an invaluable asset to this organization since coming on board in June 2001.

Ainsi, l’élève commence à goûter au plaisir du jeu violonistique et ressent l’envie d’aller plus loin.
