We are an NGO that promotes and protects the rights of vulnerable and marginalised through community empowerment, action oriented research, policy dialogue, and legal aid in Uganda.

We are a South African registered charity dedicated to encouraging disadvantaged individuals and communities to develop to their full potential in sport, education and health. We are committed to using sport as a tool to develop the disadvantaged and vulnerable youth. We do this by; 1. Using direct sports coaching - for its health benefits, improved emotional well being and increased life skills (teamwork, leadership, decision making, communication). 2. Using sport to discuss critical issues - by delivering curriculums on topics such as HIV / AIDS awareness in a fun and interactive manner on the sports field. 3. Using sport for improved education - by providing pathways to success for talented and dedicated individuals through scholarships to top local schools and tertiary education.

Seva Mandir's mission is to make real the idea of society consisting of free and equal citizens who are able to come together and solve the problems that affect them in their particular contexts. The commitment is to work for a paradigm of development and governance that is democratic and polyarchic. Seva Mandir seeks to institutionalise the idea that development and governance is not only to be left to the State and its formal bodies like the legislature and the bureaucracy, but that citizens and their associations should engage separately and jointly with the State. The mission briefly, is to construct the conditions in which citizens of plural backgrounds and perspectives can come together and deliberate on how they can work to benefit and empower the least advantaged in society.

Sisterhood Agenda is an award-winning, tax-exempt nonprofit organization that creates and implements activities for women and girls around the globe for education, support and empowerment. Sisterhood Agenda promotes positive social change and has over 6,000 global partners in 36 countries. Global partners create an extensive sisterhood network to increase local organization capacity and unite women and girls. Sisterhood Agenda's SEA (Sisterhood Empowerment Academy), based in the U.S. Virgin Islands, attracts international participants. Jovenes de Puerto Rico en Riesgo, Inc. (PRYR) is a private non-profit organization working in the youth behavioral health field in Puerto Rico since 1996. Its main purpose is to prevent youth violence and retain at risk youth in school. It designed and developed a program based on state of the art scientific data, tailored to Puerto Rican culture and socioeconomic characteristics, and founded in the model of Risk and Protective Factors. PRYR projects, were created in response to school dropout rates of students at their educational transition phases, unacceptably high in low income communities. Its unique and innovative mentorship program, with evidence-based design and implementation practices, serves high-risk youth 11 to 17 years of age. One-to-one mentoring is an essential element of the model, being the first in Puerto Rico to utilize this strategy for high risk students. It has a 95%+ sustained effectiveness rate in preventing school dropout and violent/delinquent behavior since 2000. The organization's mission is: to develop and implement preventive programs for youth at risk promoting their full potential for success and leadership, through the use of adult and peer mentors, personal and social development workshops for them, their families and teachers, academic support, and safe haven centers, established in their school premises, and meaningful work and service experiences.

INE's mission is to achieve peace in Puerto Rico through an excellent school for all working with the schools in their transformation process through the development of collective work, Montessori environments and family committees. Our goal is to develop children intellectually prepared and empowered; families committed to children's education; communities that are secured and that assume responsibility for their futures.

Our Mission: To provide roof reconstruction and related vocational training to residents of under-served communities throughout Puerto Rico. PRoTechos is a 501(c)(3) and Puerto Rico 1101.01 non-profit founded with the dual mission of rebuilding damaged roofs in under-served communities throughout the island while providing residents with basic carpentry training, addressing both housing needs and the shortage of skilled construction workers in Puerto Rico. Starting with the most urgent cases, PRoTECHOS rebuilds roofs with the help of volunteers, skilled carpenters and trainees, drawn from community residents who are willing and able to work in residential construction. We provide basic carpentry training in a "learn and earn" program. Trainees receive minimum wage for time spent learning and building, and they are expected to teach others and continue building in their community once their own training has been completed.

ISER Caribe is committed to working directly with local communities through a transdisciplinary approach by conducting participatory research and engagement. This is achieved by integrating efforts between government institutions, academia, civil society, and community organizations. Our team studies the interactions and dialectic relations between the environment and humans in order to develop alternate ways of managing anthropogenic and natural systems. Through our collaborative projects, we build the consensus that allows us to develop participatory actions, capacity building and horizontal knowledge transfer through local outreach activities and education.

To promote and provide civil legal services to low-income persons, groups and communities in Puerto Rico, and to grant access to the justice system through education, training and legal representation. Nearly 50% of the population of Puerto Rico qualifies economically for our services, as they are living at or below U.S. federal poverty levels. We are a private nonprofit corporation that provides free legal advice, representation and legal education in civil cases to people and low-income groups who qualify. The legal cases we deal with include families (domestic violence, custody issues, etc.), special education, senior citizens protections, housing (including foreclosures), minors, income maintenance, bankruptcies, veterans, civil rights, community and environmental rights, consumer rights, agricultural workers, among others. We receive funds in the form of grants and in-kind support from federal, state and municipal governments, as well as foundations and corporations. We also received donations from individuals and associations.
