WP Puppet Theatre

Puppets-on-the-Go is a crate rental program with age appropriate activities tied to art, social studies, language arts and even math curriculum. The process is made easy as educators are supplied with clear instructions, materials and samples for their student’s creative process. The art-based activities initiate cooperation and discussion for the many learning styles in their classrooms. And the end result is a performance to be proud of. “My students responded really positively and were motivated to create their own show.” The production “Pigs in a Canoe and other Watery Stories” features stories about water, from the mysteries of the deep-sea tube-worms to the transportation of pigs on the Red River in 1817. Fun and thought provoking for all ages, touring communities all year long. WP Puppet Theatre also facilitates Puppet Power, the biennial international conference that brings together artists, educators and therapists to look at the power of puppetry beyond performance.

St. Chad's College was established in Regina in 1907, where it continued its work until 1964,; the year it amalgamated with Emmanuel College. Together they formed the College of Emmanuel and St. Chad, continuing as an affiliate college of the University of Saskatchewan.

The Stettler Public Library is popular and versatile. The library received an unprecedented number of visitors over the past year--more than 68,000 people. As a result of changing community needs and this success as an educational and gathering space, the Stettler Public Library is being renovated and expanded. The renovations will allow us to offer more services and programming in an updated, more hospitable setting. We are asking you to consider a donation to enhance our collections, equipment, and facilities in order to make the renovated space the best it can be for the children, adults, and seniors in Stettler and the County of Stettler. We are grateful for your support and will recognize all donors on the SPL’s website. Major donors will be recognized on a donor wall near the entrance of the library. BURNS BOG CONSERVATION SOCIETY

The Burns Bog Conservation Society was established in 1988 by a concerned group of citizens. They, along with other members of the community, successfully stopped a major development. The founders realized they had won the battle but not the war to protect Burns Bog. The Society has a credible reputation as the voice of Burns Bog and is committed to educating people of the ecological and economic benefits of Burns Bog and other peatlands globally and how they affect our quality of life. Burns Bog is the only estuarine raised peat bog found in a Mediterranean climate. It is located in Delta, British Columbia. The Society conducts field trips, public tours, holds summer day camps, produces educational material. It hosts special events such as International Bog Day and Jog for the Bog. The Society builds and maintains the boardwalks in the Delta Nature Reserve. The Society receives no funding from the United Way, the Corporation of Delta or Metro Vancouver.
