The Hallmark Heritage Society is the oldest heritage preservation society in the Capital Regional District – Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. It was established on April 18, 1973 in response to the wholesale demolition of heritage buildings. As a registered non-profit society, we are financed principally by membership dues and members’ contributions, and are affiliated with regional, provincial, national and international heritage preservation organizations.
STRIDE is a non-profit, community based vocational rehabilitation program founded in 1983. STRIDE is the only Halton-based organization whose primary purpose is to serve the employment needs of residents who are living with a mental illness or addiction issue.
Approximately 60% of the adult population in Hamilton do not have the literacy skills needed to meet the everyday demands at home, work and in the community. We help English-speaking adults to improve their basic (grade 1-grade 5) reading, writing and math skills through the work of trained, volunteer tutors. The student and tutor pair meet for approximately 4 hours per week. We also provide the option of Small Group instruction where 5-8 students learn basic skills in a class setting. Small Groups meet 9 hours per week.
Happy Corner Preschool is located in Vancouver BC. The school provides a two morning a week program for 3 year olds (teddy bears) and a 3 morning a week program for 4 year olds (caterpillars). The school is a registered Parent Participation Preschool.

The Inter-Cultural Association of Greater Victoria (ICA) helps individuals and organizations to connect across cultures. We provide information, support and tools to help immigrants reach their goals. By engaging people through networks, education and arts programming we create a welcoming community. ICA offers services for newcomers, including settlement and integration counseling, translation and interpretation, English classes, mentoring, volunteer matching and peer support. We also provide outreach and education in the community through arts programming, as well as workshops on anti-racism, multiculturalism, diversity awareness, immigration and human rights.
The Inuit Broadcasting Corporation (IBC), launched its Fundraising Campaign “Sanavallianiq Isumagijaujunut – Building for Dreams” in Iqaluit in September 2012. This campaign aims to raise funds (incl. in-kind) to complete the $8.9 million Nunavut Media Arts Centre (NMAC) on the concrete pad that lies ready and waiting in Iqaluit. The up-to-date facility will enable IBC to continue to build on its impressive 30-year legacy of Inuit language programming. The NMAC will accommodate important production technologies – high definition equipment, digital editing systems, and video data storage. The facility will enhance the diversity and quality of IBC’s current production output, increase it's capacity to generate revenue, and provide a new level of service and capacity to artists, clients and viewers in Nunavut and elsewhere. The NMAC will house the Inuit Film and Video Archive for preserving and storing the priceless collection of historic film and video shot by Inuit since the 1970s.
The Adult Learning Centre is a community based non-profit Literacy and Basic Skills program that assists adults in improving their reading, writing, math, computer,communication and workforce readiness skills for employment, further education and training,and/or personal goals.
Junior Achievement of Nova Scotia (JA) has been the leading provider of youth financial education and entrepreneurial activities in the province for 40 years. JA programs help students understand economic principles and develop entrepreneurial, leadership and interpersonal skills. JA experiences promote the skills, understanding and perspectives students need to succeed in a global economy and be productive, contributing members of society with an emphasis on three areas: Financial literacy Entrepreneurship Work readiness In Nova Scotia, JA offers young leaders four programs free of charge, starting as early as grade six: Our Business World, the Economics for Success, JA Titan and the Company Program.
Junior Achievement of Central Ontario has provided hands-on experiences which help young people understand the economics of life since 1968. In partnership with educators and volunteers, Junior Achievement brings the real world to students, opening their minds to their potential, serving nearly 70,000 students in Central Ontario in 2008-2009 alone. Through the generous support of our volunteers and donors Junior Achievement provides relevant financial literacy and entrepreneurial programs. Every program is delivered by trained and inspiring volunteers who share their practical experience to encourage students to stay in school and to pursue their dreams.
