Nature Canada is a member-based non-profit nature conservation organization dedicated to protecting nature, its diversity, and the processes that sustain it. With strategies based on sound science and passion for nature, Nature Canada effects change on issues of national significance, including bird conservation, wilderness protection, species at risk and national parks. Through public outreach and education we are building a nature ethic among Canadians.

Founded in 1969, The Society Promoting Environmental Conservation (SPEC) is a non-profit charitable organization that addresses environmental issues in British Columbia, with a particular focus on urban communities in Lower Mainland and the Georgia Basin. SPEC is a member-based society with an elected Board of Directors and a dedicated team of staff and volunteers. The Directors, members, staff and volunteers actively participate in SPEC’s on-going environmental projects.

The Cataraqui Region Conservation Foundation raises funds to assist with the Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority's conservation education and land acquisition programs. The Foundation has been the CRCA's fundraising arm for more than 40 years. The Foundation is a registered charitable organization with a formally-constituted board of directors and organization by-laws. The board elects its officers and maintains its records at the CRCA Administration Office in Kingston, Ontario. In 1994, the Foundation became a membership-based organization. Persons interested in the aims of the Foundation can make contributions to specific projects (for example, Partners-in-Education) and may purchase a tax-receiptable annual membership. HISTORY The Committee for Human Rights in Latin America (CDHAL) was founded in 1976, following the coups d'état in Argentina and Chile, known for their strong repression and human rights violations, by four pastors and priests of Christian churches in Montreal who, within their respective faith, had a function in relation to international problems. The CDHAL owes its birth to two concerns: first, a concern of Christians to educate and inform the Church and the Quebec population in relation to situations of political repression and human rights violations in Latin America; on the other hand, a desire to establish genuine solidarity among the churches there and those here. Initially, members of CDHAL belonged to a religious affiliation. However, for over 20 years, the composition of CDHAL, as well as his work is totally free of any religious affiliation. CDHAL is also known as the Christian Committee for Human Rights in Latin America (CCDHAL).

CCNB has been at the forefront of environmental action in New Brunswick since 1969. We are a membership-based organization with charitable status in Canada. Our members are citizens who care about the future of our planet - citizens who want to support environmental protection in the Maritimes. We work on two fronts: 1. We act as citizen watchdogs for the public good, safeguarding our land, air and water. 2. Through research and education we develop and promote solutions to pollution and resource destruction.

The Credit Valley Conservation Foundation is a distinct charitable Foundation that raises money for conservation projects and is strategically poised to assist Credit Valley Conservation with the daunting task of environmental protection. Blazing new trails, creating woodland habitats, naturalizing urban areas and providing environmental education are just some of the initiatives funded and led by the CVC Foundation. Members and donors to the CVC Foundation firmly believe that our personal health, economic well-being and quality of life are inextricably linked to the health of our natural environment. The funds raised by the Foundation are used exclusively in support of CVC projects.

Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) is the leader in wetland conservation. A registered charity, DUC partners with government, industry, non-profit organizations and landowners to conserve wetlands that are critical to waterfowl, wildlife and the environment. • DUC has 139,000 grassroots supporters across the country, including 6,200 volunteers. • DUC was established in 1938 by conservation-minded waterfowlers who recognized the importance of wetlands. DUC is proud of its waterfowling heritage. • DUC has 75 years of experience conserving wetlands. DUC is part of a larger Ducks Unlimited family, which includes Ducks Unlimited in the United States, Mexico and New Zealand.

The Environmental Education Commission is a not-for-profit trust that operates the Brother Brennan Centre in Deerpark off Salmonier Line. See www.brotherbrennancentre.ca for details of the BBC. The Centre has a seasonal staff of five persons for cooking, cleaning, and maintenance and two teaching assistants. Through the fall and spring terms the Centre provides residential environmental education to about 1800 grade 6-8 students from the Newfoundland schools. The Centre is also available to community groups or for private bookings during the summer months or weekends and is closed from early December until the beginning of May.

The Essex Region Conservation Foundation (ERCF) was established in 1977 with a vital goal to receive and maintain funds for charitable, educational, conservation, and heritage purposes related to the conservation, restoration, development, and management of natural and heritage resources in the Essex region.

CORE VALUES As the voice of anglers and hunters, the OFAH will professionally represent Ontario’s anglers and hunters, their hunting and fishing rights and traditions, and their passion for hunting and fishing, and for fish and wildlife conservation. The OFAH supports, and will seek to enhance, Ontario’s rich traditions of hunting and fishing, and the quality of life they represent. The OFAH will promote, encourage, and seek to ensure the conservation of Ontario’s fish and wildlife, their habitats, and the ecosystems that support them, to ensure continuing benefits to anglers and hunters, and by extension, to all of the people in Ontario. The OFAH will encourage, conduct and lead proactive fish and wildlife management, individually and in cooperation with others, to ensure the conservation of resources, the protection and enhancement of our hunting and fishing heritage, and the provision of benefits to meet the needs of Ontarians.
