The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) protects Canada's most threatened natural habitats and the species that call them home. Since 1962, NCC and its supporters have protected more than 2.7 million acres (1.1 million hectares) of ecologically sensitive land nationwide.

Camp Fircom is a remote summer camp for children, youth and families. We strive to provide positive and supportive camping/outdoor experiences for all people, regardless of their ability to pay. We have a focus on creating a strong social atmosphere, and providing youth with transformative experiences of responsibility and leadership.

For many years the Friends of Quetico Park, has sponsored summer students for assistance with the Park’s summer programs. By assisting programs such as the Natural Heritage Program, an educational program run for youth that visit Dawson Trail Campground, we have helped educate Canada’s youth about the beauty and cultural wonders of our park. We have assisted the John B. Ridley Library with numerous students over the years to support library services. We have purchased books and shelving units for the library to broaden its collection and its appeal to all visitors to the Dawson Trail Pavilion. Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Centre located in Mount Brydges, Ontario is actively involved in serving Canadians providing both wild animal care and public education. Over 850 animals and birds are admitted annually including Bald Eagles, Chimney Swifts, Eastern Fox Snakes and Peregrine Falcons all presently listed as an Animal of Special Concern as outlined by the Ministry of Natural Resources Species at Risk in Ontario (SARO) List. Salthaven is licensed by the Canadian Wildlife Service and the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources (OMNR). It is a challenge to meet the costs of food, housing, medical supplies and veterinary services each year. Efforts are ongoing to raise funds to accomodate over 4000 calls for help every year. Although licensed by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, the centre relies on a team of 100 volunteers, donations and philanthropy to provide care for sick, injured or orphaned wildlife.

The Calgary Zoological Society was officially founded in 1929. Key to the zoo’s mission is generating affection for the amazing animals that call the zoo home, and inspiring people to care about their wild relatives. Our education team delivers more than 800 school programs to 21,000 students each year focusing on topics ranging from water conservation to saving endangered species. The ultimate goal is to motivate the next generation to take action. The Calgary Zoo’s Centre for Conservation Research conducts innovative research and participates in reintroduction programs that help secure the future of many Canadian endangered species. In addition, conservation initiatives throughout the world are identified and supported through the zoo’s Conservation Outreach. Over the past five years, more than 25 projects were supported in 20 countries and most involve community-based initiatives – helping local people to participate in conservation efforts in their own backyard.

LAMBTON WILDLIFE INCORPORATED is a nonprofit, volunteer, naturalist organization, founded in 1966, and is licensed as a charitable corporation under the Income Tax Act. The Maitland Conservation Foundation is a registered, charitable, non-profit organization that supports the environmental work of the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority. Established in 1975 the Foundation's Board of Directors and members are volunteers. The Maitland Conservation Foundation works in partnership with the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority to raise funds for conservation projects. Currently the Foundation is working to ensure the availability of environmental education programs in the Maitland watershed, to support projects that will build the environmental resiliency of the watershed and to upgrade facilities at local conservation areas. Donors are welcome to direct their donations to specific initiatives including the John Hindmarsh Environmental Trust Fund, the Geoff Walker Memorial Fund, the Wawanosh Nature Centre, tree planting/environmental restoration efforts, Memorial Grove and Falls Reserve Conservation Area. Each year Wildlife Haven receives approximately 1,700 birds, mammals and reptiles and several thousands of public inquiries by phone. The organization receives and cares for injured and orphaned wildlife for release back to the wild. The wildlife rehabilitation centre operates according to the best established guidelines, protocols and treatments. The centre provides and promotes public education in wildlife conservation. Wildlife Haven provides humane maintenance of non-releasable wildlife for educational purposes. The organization also collects information pertaining to wildlife rehabilitation to conduct non-invasive research studies.

Meewasin is a conservation agency dedicated to conserving the cultural and natural resources of the South Saskatchewan River Valley in the Saskatoon region. Meewasin principals: - valley resources accessible to everyone; - recreation and development balanced with resource conservation; - opportunity for diverse activities to meet a variety of interests; - public ownership in decision making.

Objectives - To raise the ecological awareness of people living, working and enjoying Lake Memphremagog and its surrounding areas. - Lobby local, provincial and federal governments to develop and implement regulations that protect and improve the quality of life in and around the lake. - Participate in the surveillance of the water quality of the lake and its tributaries, clean-up and renaturalisation of the shoreline, and protect area plants and wildlife. - Inform and educate the public on issues involving the environment and the natural beauty of Lake Memphremagog.

Founded in 1969, the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Foundation is a registered charity dedicated to raising funds for the preservation & rehabilitaiton of our natural environment for present & future generations. Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors from many walks of life, it exists to raise support & funding for projects of the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority. Often, these projects are not eligible for traditional government funding, or other funding is not sufficient or available.
