High Park Initiatives (HPI) works to facilitate the protection, conservation and ecological restoration of High Park's woodland, savannah and wetland ecosystems. Our mandate is achieved through carrying out and providing support for various innovative restoration, public education and research programs. The main vehicle through which HPI functions is the High Park Nature Centre. This award-winning environmental education centre located within High Park aims to offer an enriched educational experience that will have a long-term impact on individual attitudes toward the natural environment and contribute to the protection of High Park’s rare and significant natural areas.

The Langley Hospice Society is committed to providing emotional, practical and spiritual support for people who are living with a terminal illness, their family and friends throughout the last stage of illness, at the time of death and bereavement.

JUMP Math enhances the potential in children by inspiring an understanding and love of mathematics. JUMP Math is a philosophy and a set of mathematics resources that aim to improve the teaching of mathematics and to help students enjoy and meet their potential in the subject. The JUMP Math program is based on the belief that all children, even those diagnosed as having serious learning disabilities or who are failing, can excel at math. Mathematics, rather than being the most difficult subject, can be a subject in which children can most easily succeed in – even at a young age – and can thereby develop the confidence and cognitive abilities they need to do well in other subjects.

The War Amps is a Canadian nation-wide registered charitable organization operated under the direction of war amputees. In 1946, the Key Tag Service was launched as a sheltered workshop where war amputees could not only work for competitive wages, but also provide a service to Canadians that would generate funds for the organization. The Address Label Service was introduced in 1972 to provide year-round employment for the disabled staff at the Key Tag Service. The War Amps is able to operate its many programs, such as the CHAMP (Child Amputee) Program, PLAYSAFE and DRIVESAFE, solely through donations from the public to the Key Tag and Address Label Service. The War Amps does not: use professional fundraisers; receive government grants; solicit by phone or door-to-door; sell or trade your name/address; spend more than 10% on administration; tie up funds in long-term investments. For many years the Friends of Quetico Park, has sponsored summer students for assistance with the Park’s summer programs. By assisting programs such as the Natural Heritage Program, an educational program run for youth that visit Dawson Trail Campground, we have helped educate Canada’s youth about the beauty and cultural wonders of our park. We have assisted the John B. Ridley Library with numerous students over the years to support library services. We have purchased books and shelving units for the library to broaden its collection and its appeal to all visitors to the Dawson Trail Pavilion. BB4CK works in partnership with Calgary schools to make and deliver free healthy lunches for students who would otherwise go hungry. Through the work of community groups and volunteers, we provide about 2,000 lunches each day. Lunches are prepared in our main kitchen, and in various other locations by community groups including retirees, parent groups and local businesses. Nourishment is available to any young person who arrives at school without enough to eat. BB4CK works with school staff members to identify needs and to plan how best to make sure hungry students get the nutrition required to think clearly and learn. By enabling better education outcomes, BB4CK gives students a hand up, not just a handout. Each lunch costs only about $1 to make. Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids has one goal: no hungry kids in Calgary. We strive toward this goal each day by providing healthy lunches directly to kids, and by empowering communities to create lasting social change.

Lions Foundation of Canada operates Dog Guides Canada, a national school which trains and provides Dog Guides at no cost to Canadians with visual, hearing or other physical or medical disabilities. The Dog Guide programs are Canine Vision Canada, Hearing Ear, Special Skills,Seizure Response and Autism Assistance Dog Guides.

The Kelowna General Hospital Foundation aspires to be a leader in the facilitation and promotion of quality health care by funding innovative and effective programs through the commitment of its members and donors.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Waterloo Region help over 1200 children, youth and their famlies each year. We do this by providing volunteer mentors to children in need. We believe that the healthy development of every child is enhanced by a positive, nurturing, mentoring relationship. We are proud of what we have been able to do, but we also continue to work hard to meet the needs of over 200 children still waiting to be matched. You can help us by supporting our programs. It only takes a minute to change a life.

We are a member-based organization. Our members elect a national Board of Directors who are responsible for setting the strategic direction of Dying With Dignity Canada. The Board has hired an Executive Director to carry out day-to-day operations and execute our strategic plan. We are funded by membership fees and donations, both of which are tax deductible. To join as a member of DWD, make your donation (minimum $10) to the membership fund.

Our programs help women transition towards self-sufficiency by addressing their social and economic needs in relation to work, home and community. Programs include: the Suiting Program which outfits women in professional attire for job interviews and employment; the Dress Rehearsal program where clients go through a mock interview and feedback session and can get assistance with resume/cover letter writing; and the Professional Women’s Group (PWG) which offers women ongoing support as they successfully transition into the workforce.
