The Rideau Valley Wildlife Sanctuary is a not-for-profit corporation and registered charity (#82731 7744 RR0001)based in North Gower, Ontario. RVWS receives no government funding and relies solely on donations to continue its work. RVWS is the only licensed facility for the rehabilitation of wild mammals and turtles serving Ottawa and surrounding communities.

A 100% volunteer-based charity committed to ensuring the efficient and effective use of public donations. The Foundation does not have paid staff and does not receive government funding. It relies on volunteer contributions, public donations and corporate support. Donations go to spay/neuter, veterinary medical care, adoption and public education programs for companion animals. Designated donations accepted.

Earth Stop One Foundation was founded in 2002 by a group of dedicated people who recognized there was a need for a sanctuary for companion birds in Alberta. Earth Stop One provides a life-long home for pet birds that were abused, neglected, abandoned, orphaned or their caregiver could no longer look after their bird. Earth Stop One Foundation has no paid staff. We are all volunteers who provide quality care, love, rehabilitation and a safe haven. Due to the ever increasing demand Earth Stop One Foundation was registered as a charity in 2006.

Long-term migration studies provide valuable population indices for species that are difficult to survey by other means due to the inaccessibility of their breeding and wintering grounds. Government and conservation groups use this information locally and internationally to address a broad range of concerns about the population status of many familiar Canadian birds. The purpose of the Breeding Birds of Pelee Island Project is to further our understanding of the breeding bird populations on the island, including population density, nest productivity and survivorship, habitat requirements, species diversity, nest predation rates and brood parasitism. PIBO has initiated a variety of activities geared towards public education, including regularly scheduled bird-banding demonstrations for school groups, field-naturalist clubs, and the general public. The projects provide volunteer opportunities and comprehensive bird banding training for all long-term volunteers and interns.

‘Street Cats is a non-profit organization dedicated to the purpose of assisting homeless cats in our area. Our purpose is to assist with medical treatment, rescue, and adoption. Our philosophy is that each and every cat deserves a warm safe place to live with adequate food and water. In order to reduce the large numbers of stray cats in our area we insist that all cats coming through ‘Street Cats’ are spayed or neutered. Our workers are 100% volunteers so fund go directly to helping the animals.’

NatureServe Canada provides scientific information about Canada’s species and ecosystems to help guide effective conservation action and natural resource management. A part of the international NatureServe network, it is a leading source for reliable information and analysis on the distribution and conservation status of Canada’s plants, animals, and ecological communities. NatureServe Canada works in close partnership with key federal and provincial agencies as well as international and multi-lateral initiatives concerned with environmental conservation.

Rescue Me is an organization that supports over 25 Rescue Groups and Animal Rehabilitation Organizations in Ontario. It coordinates marketing, charitable activities and sponsorship designed to give both small and large organizations the ability to fund-raise on a larger scale. Many of our rescues are small and would otherwise not have the resources to maximize their charitable giving. All money donated goes directly toward helping with medical care and much needed resources to find these animals appropriate permanent loving homes or hospice homes. Thank you for your support!

Rest.Q Animal Sanctuary is a recognized nonprofit charity (Registered Business Number: 83035 9568 RR 0001) located on 3 acres in the Southern Gulf Islands. Rest.Q is home to over 120 permanent residents that include horses, alpacas, pigs, parrots, rabbits, battery hens, turkeys, and geese. As two of our Board of Directors are BC certified veterinarians, our animals receive exemplary care. Hancock Wildlife Foundation believes that through education and research we can better conserve our wildlife resources in the face of human interaction. Given time and encouragement the wildlife of our planet can co-exist with man as shown by the tremendous resurgence of the bald eagle in urban and suburban areas after being almost wiped out by poorly thought out laws and human greed. The Hancock Wildlife Foundation is seeking funding for projects which include research and conservation initiatives. As the foundation grows, we will hire more staff-many younger talented people committed to our cause must still make a living. As David Hancock says, "If we can support that, then that is marvelous. However, it is both my position and belief that we will also find, already have found, so many additional talented people with some time (and or dollars) to give that "community stewardship". You, the volunteers, the stewards' of your community, my community-earth, are our biggest asset."

ca-r-ma.org-Cat Rescue Maritimes is a registered charity engaged in humanely reducing the population of unwanted free roaming cats & kittens. We operate TNR (trap-neuter-return) programs where colonies of these animals exist & remove adoptable animals..mostly kittens..from the colonies, foster them in private homes, alter them & place them in approved adoptive homes. As resources allow, we assist colony care givers in providing food & shelter for the feral cats in their care. Our future goals include education initiatives to change attitudes on the importance of spay/neutering & working with other animal support groups to bring about legislation for the benefit of all animals. ca-r-ma.org has no paid employees; it is run by entirely by volunteers & funded by donations. There are currently chapters in Antigonish, Deer Island, Fredericton, Halifax, Moncton, Pictou, Riverside-Albert, St Stephen, and Saint John. We are eager to welcome and support new chapters anywhere in the Maritimes.
