A "For Life" shelter rescuing dogs and cats.
CatSpan has been caring for and maintaining the stray & feral cat population in the Oceanside communities since 1996. Every year over 100 cats are trapped, spayed/neutered and released to colonies with food and care provided. If sociable, they may be adopted out. CatSpan is a volunteer based registered charity which relies solely on donations & fundraising events. 100% of all proceeds go directly into cat care.
100% of all donations are used for Veterinary expenses. Veterinary expenses are defined as Spaying, Neutering and medical emergengies. We do not Euthanize. We do not have a shelter but rather operate with a network of foster homes. This has allowed for each animal coming our way to be provided with the care they need and has allowed us to have a healthy population to date.
We save slaughter-bound horses and find them new loving homes. Check out our website - www.bearvalleyab.org - to see all the wonderful horses we have helped and are currently helping!
At various shelters throughout B.C., dedicated staff and volunteers work tirelessly to find these special animals a place to finish their journey in comfort and in love. Because of their infirmities and physical challenges, many homeless senior and special needs animals have very little chance of finding a new home. SAINTS exists to help senior and special needs animals when all else fails. If we can, in time, find them a special home of their own, then we do. If that very special home never comes, they will be safe and cherished until the end of their days. We pledge to love them, to care for them, and make their dreams come true. We promise each of them that they will never be alone again.

North Toronto Cat Rescue (The Cat Connection) is a non-profit, volunteer-run, registered Canadian Charity genuinely concerned with the welfare of all cats and kittens. We are NOT "selective" in our rescue efforts, believing all abandoned, abused animals deserve love, nourishment, safety and a "warm lap" to curl up on rather than having to suffer from starvation and the wrath of Mother Nature during our frigid winter months.
VWB/VSF works on big picture challenges of nutrition, disease and gender equality by concentrating on small, workable solutions. We partner with local communities and other non-profit organizations to deliver on the ground programs that focus on creating stable, sustainable communities and improved health for animals, people and the environments in which they live. Given the right tools and knowledge, women, children and families can transform their lives; these improvements are then replicable in adjacent communities, benefiting people around the world. Established in 2005, VWB/VSF-Canada works with governments, educational institutions, non-governmental organizations, local communities, farmers' groups, and international agencies to tackle root-cause issues affecting public health, animal health and ecosystem health in developing communities around the world.
Funds for Furry Friends is dedicated to finding people for dogs.
COPE Service Dogs helps high school students at risk of leaving school before graduation stay in school through a structured credit program and the use of service dogs in training. The program is unique in Canada through its use of dogs to help students learn. Students enrolled in the program help elementary school students reading below grade level or having trouble with mathematics and visit seniors in hospitals and nursing homes. The service dogs once trained are assigned to a life partner with a mobility disability. Ninety-eight per cent of those enrolled graduate and continue their education or find gainful employment. Testimonials speak to its life altering impact on the students, their families and communities. A gift to COPE is an investment in our youth’s future.
CAAT organizes Animal Health Care Projects right in the community providing sterilization and vaccination services for low-income families. The goal is to reduce the population growth, reduce the number of unwanted dogs and cats and improve the general welfare of the resident animals. We also provide humane education to work toward long-term changes within the community. It is difficult to imagine having no access to veterinary care but there are countless communities in Canada (and internationally) where this is a reality. These communities, where veterinary care is inaccessible, either geographically or financially, are where the Canadian Animal Assistance Team (CAAT) goes.
